Troll? All you do is bitch like a girl about what real men are investing in. Look forward to your relocation to some overtaxed liberal place like San Fran.

New owner plans expansion, overhaul at Jackson’s Bistro complex

Quote:
By*Richard Mullins | Tribune Staff*
Published:*September 3, 2014** | * Updated:September 3, 2014 at 01:31 PM

The complex that houses Jackson’s Bistro will likely look vastly different in the coming years, as the new owners plan a major overhaul and expansion of the site on Harbour Island.

Tampa-based developers Liberty Group and Convergent Capital bought the property Wednesday for $7.5 million, but plan to invest another $10 million in partnership with private equity giant Blackstone and the Tampa development firm Highwoods.

The site will likely have one if not two more major restaurants on site, said Santosh Govindaraju, chief executive of Convergent Capital. Jackson’s has a long-term lease on its space, and that restaurant plans to continue operating.

“We want to increase the activity along the waterfront by reactivating the marina at Jackson’s,” Govindaraju said. “When you look at the opening of Ulele and our Aloft hotel, there’s an opportunity to take a boat out, have drinks at one and dinner at another.”

The article talks about adding one or two restaurants, which would be great additions, and some retail. How much commercial square footage is available and what type of retail businesses would be the best for the area?

It will be interesting to see how they improve the connection to the water.

But you can't walk from one to another along Riverwalk, because you guys didn't allow it to connect to the Aloft property...

I ride the riverwalk at least 4 times a week, If anyone wanted to take the river walk from Aloft to harbour island it's about a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the riverwalk, not a huge deal by anymeans.

This is a much better project for Liberty... Better scale for them, far less challenging issues to maximize value, and they're really an add-on player to a larger project that someone else is ultimately in charge of.

See my posts from late last month in this thread. I don't think there were any newer updates about the Related tower.

I will be glad when they get HIKU started. I'm sick of that empty parcel. Get ready for some noise Plaza people.

Nice to see new projects coming up to Tampa now, especially in Harbour Island.
It really needs to fill up those empty lots

Now with funding and soil testing, HIKU should be going up shortly.

By reading about the financial situation, it def sounds very promising that they will start this month.

I'm becoming more doubtful about the Related tower. No updates on that one yet.

There was mention of town-homes also, does anyone know how the site will be laid out?

Does this include the land to the east in the shape of a triangle, perhaps the location of these town-homes?
