Based on wind resistance, for example, the terminal velocity of a skydiver in a free-fall position with a semi-closed parachute is about 195 km/h (120 mph or 55m/s).

i agree, no need for the cynicism. be it 15 seconds or 17 seconds, 190kph or 250kph, thats still an extremely long fall at an extremely fast speed. and besides, what would the exact velocity matter to someone falling to their death?

and even though ricardo might have been slightly off, he did bring up the subject, giving us something interesting to talk about while we all wait.

well when someone brings out the numbers, he should bring them out correctly. and saying that air is barely neglectible makes you a target of cynicism. just a hint: air is the difference between 600 mph and 120 mph. does that sound neglectible?

as for the complicated idea - read his post, really. aspecially the "hello" part.

btw nakheel tower got stopped. so good burj dubai is so far into being built, and hopefully nothing will stop here.

HI FURY, ive chatted to head emporis chief about burj dubais pinnacle handrail ect.they will include it if its gets attached to pinnacle. if it doesnt get constructed and only beacons go up, then the height will exclude beacons.
so i think safe to say 818m.
hopefully some action in next week.

I probably shouldn't even acknowledge that stupid comment but I will by asking "What the h_ll are you talking about?"

This topic

I'm already reading this forum quite sometime....especially the Dubai related topics/subforums.

I don't feel the need to place any comments/messages, because all the info's already on it...
What i do feel to react about now is those stupid posts from lots of forumvisitors who think they do the topic a lot of help by saying 'wow' or 'that's awesome' ed, just to get more posts behind their name.

I could call some names, but that's not necessary, it is really irritating!

Also all that guys need to ask the current height/how tall it is.
WTF? If you were really interested, you'd view more than 1 or 2 posts above yours.
Just read a view pages back and you'll find the answer for 99% sure.

As interested forummer, i'm just hoping to read some news now and then...and not to read those silly questions every 3-4 posts....

BTW, no i'm not frustrated, i'm just really irritated about it.

To keep a bit ontopic: the renders of the Burj Dubai look great, but the non-finished Burj looks 3x more stunning.
