I am quite disappointed with the design. They aren't ugly at all but with all this blue glass going up it just gets me really bored. Good addition to the skyline, atleast...

Thanks for posting this up krull...

Looks great. Hope it goes ahead quickly. God bless NYC, we need more supertalls there!

great addition to skyline don't usually like leaning towers but this one one would fit quite well in the skyline, new york seems to be back on track building more and bigger skyscrapers than previously

i agree that the design is just a LITTLE boring(i'm sure more detailed renderings will change my opinion), but looking at the skyline from the hudson, how many tall blue glassed buildings do you see? not many.
I think these building are great though because of the contrast with all the old dirty buildings around it. however, once the entire rail yards is developed, it may look monotonous

Design of a skyline filler, height of a true landmark... I am not sure about that, they are looking good, but I would expect some design that would stand out more...

Simple but elegant towers!

It's very New York!

The skyline is already the landmark, New York doesn't have to build crazy designs to make a statement. It's just the quality and the profitability that counts, these 2 towers are a good example of that.

I find only two things remarkable:
1) the height
2) that NYC has added yet another supertall to it's proposed list.

Definitely the most exciting skyscraper city in the world right now!

I like the design, but I agree about the materials. It pisses me off that when we see designs that don't incorporate a lot of blue glass, they say "It's a NYC style skyscraper." What a load of shit.

If you look at this skyline, with good jazz music! Than it's just more than beautiful, just breathtaking! If you know what I mean!

And that pic where you point where the two towers are located. Is that a higway? Or railway? And is it going to be under ground?

The railway is already underground. It just has not been decked over.

NY sure has quite a selection of new taller skyscrapers now which will redefine the skyline, and even though some won't be built, there's still many more on the way and without a doubt a dozen to 20 new buildings 900 and 1,000'+ will be built within the next 8 to 12 years, not even including the BoA/NYT Towes. It's a crazy development world and it will be amazing to see how the city keeps up with so many massive projects rising at once all over Manhattan.

Great; nice and simple with modern designs is always a win. 100% icon if the lighting is done right. The subtle curving makes it what it is.

This sends another clear message to those who oppose height and large-scale projects that no one cares about their opinions.

Please DO NOT tell me that this:

(courtesy Archidose.org)
is being replaced by these towers.

If this is so, I would be perturbed, I loved those SOM towers

* * O M G * * I just was digging online and it seems that both pairs of towers are still proposed!!!!!

OOPS, the first post sort of mentions this also, I bugged it!
