He also briefed the meeting about the works on passenger amenities completed and those under progress.

In the meeting attended by as many as 11 members representing different associations and organisations, various grievances were aired and several suggestions put forward.

Some of the demands include: the construction of a road overbridget at level crossing gate No.1 between Hubballi and Kusugal; provision of reservation counter at Annigeri railway station; increase frequency of train No. 16217/18 Mysuru Shiradi weekly express; provision of stoppage of train No.16536/16535 Mysuru — Solapur Golgumbaz Express at Indi Road and Tadval; provision of stoppage of train No. 17317/17318 Hubballi—Lokmanya Tilak Terminus—Hubballi at Kalyan; improvement in facilities provided at Vijaypura goods shed; streamlining the parking system at Hubballi and Dharwad railway stations, augmentation of extra coaches by Hampi Express and others.

That's a good start. If they complete both the project in 3 years that would be fantastic. Hope they don't have any land acquisition issues.

As per one of the news reports, SWR already has land for TK-ASK doubling. Dont know about it in case of Yelahanka-Penukonda.
