cool... another airline will be serving aor-szb. though i think they should operate out of klia as well to aor, cheaper alternative to catch connecting flights since airasia's lcct is not something i would choose if i were to connect to MH.

Malindo to receive 5 Dreamliner from PT Lion in 2015
By Bilqis Bahari Published: 2013/05/31
http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_New...MAL30/Article/

SUBANG JAYA: Malaysia's first hybrid airline, Malindo Air, will receive five Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner from its parent, Indonesia's PT Lion Group, in 2015.

Malindo chief executive officer Chandran Ramamuthy said the airline will deploy the aircraft on six-hour routes, such as to the Middle East, North India, North Asia and Australia, from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

He also said the airline is considering flying the B787 Dreamliner to North China from Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

"We requested for five B787 aircraft. Initially, we may get three while the other two will be given to Batik Air," he said after the launch of its ticketing office at Skypark Subang Terminal yesterday.

Malindo has planned to expand its network in three phases that include domestic routes, five-hour radius routes and medium-haul routes, which have a radius range of about eight to nine hours.

Chandran said under the first phase, the airline will will fly all of its Peninsular Malaysia routes from the Subang airport.

He added that Malindo will step into the second phase in the second half of the year.

"We need to have the domestic footprint first. Our aircraft is focusing between Sabah and Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia, whereas our ATR (turboprop operation) will focus on the shorter routes, which are the one-hour flights from Subang to Penang, Kota Baru, Johor Baru, Alor Star and Langkawi," he said.

On its current performance, Chandran said the demand is going strong and it has carried about 125,000 passengers since May 22.

Malindo's jet operations achieved a 70 per cent load factor in its first month of operations.

Malindo to fly to India, Singapore after August
By June Ramlee Published: 2013/06/04
http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_New...jundo/Article/

MALINDO Air will kick-start its international flights by flying to India and Singapore after August.

Its head of corporate sales and governmental relations Raja Sa'adi Raja Amrin said the routes will be serviced by its Boeing 737s.

"For India, the routes will be to New Dehli, Cochin, Trichy," he said during Malindo Air's inaugural flight here yesterday.

He said the airline will operate from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang and offer full services, where ticket prices will include inflight entertainment, food and other frills.

"We will also have WiFi services but that will be charged," said Raja Sa'adi.

Besides India and Singapore, the airline is also looking at flying to destinations such as China, Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia by year-end.

Raja Sa'adi said Malindo Air is looking at increasing its number of ATR72-600 propeller aircraft to four by year-end and eight by end of 2014 from one currently.

The carrier also plans to have 10 Boeing 737s in service by year-end from two currently.

Malindo Air, a hybrid airline based at KLIA, started its operations in March. It is the first airline to operate the brand-new B737-900ER in Malaysia.

"We have been having a steady increase of 50,OOO passengers on a month-on-month basis. If this persists, then it is possible for us to reach one million passengers by year-end," Raja Sa'adi.

I hope malindo turboprop will make the turboprops fares out of subang airport more cheaper and competitive.Fireflyz fares can be really expensive.
