Nice! Reminds me a lot of my current city Lynchburg, VA. Are they doing anything with all those historic mills and warehouses such as adaptive reuse lofts and apartments? I grew up in Georgia and go back every year, but have never made it to Columbus unfortunately. Looks like a nice place to grow up!

Most of the mills along the riverfront have either been turned into lofts, offices or classroom space for CSU. The City Mill complex is apart the city's City Mill Village plan. Its a $60 million plan to transform the area north of Uptown into a new neighborhood of lofts, retail and office space.

Looks like Columbus still has some great historic buildings just ripe for rehab. Beautiful houses too.

Considering the city's location and available economic resources Columbus has done very well for itself over the past decade. It's become one of my favorite small cities for conferences or conventions in the state, and what's more the locals are very focused on sustaining the progress. The river front has been handled almost perfectly and they've worked very hard to keep the commercial activity thriving within the urban core. CSU has been a great partner in that regard and I can't say enough about the dedication of Synovus to the area.

Not a vacation destination on par with, say, Chattanooga, but certainly a nice place that's getting even better.
