Thanks I'm not living on the Island these days (or anywhere near it) but my Social Media feeds were buzzing. My Brother in Law is a die hard Pompeynut as well.

Portsmouth club going up

It is exciting that Portsmouth went up. Hopefully the disney CEO guy actually buys the club, Hopefully al that helps the business of the city. Fratton has the potential to become a legit City Centre of Portsmouth.

The Hard Interchange

A further update, the line markings and direction arrows have been added to the apron and double yellow lines in other areas, none of these were in evidence last Tuesday.

Very good news about this. Now hopefully someone can buy the site, knock down the eyesore and get a decent plan through the council

New retail park in North Harbour

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/business...park-1-7938108

Being built on the derelict land to the north of Tescos in North Harbour.
Hopefully some money is going to be spent on improving the road layout around there as well, it is already becoming to congested.

I got pics of inside the new bus interchange but dont know how to post from phone.

Anyway its like an airport style departure lounge with the live info screens of what buses using what bays and destinations. Screens also above the bay entrances, so a screen for that bay info and updates of train services

It also has a small hot drinks area and the area is very clean and open. What i like about it seems smaller outside than inside.

Surrey Street / Catherine House Updates:

A bit of an update for you all regarding the No. 1 Surrey Street tower.

I spoke to one of the workers today and mentioned the obvious lack of a tower crane for such a big building! He told me that there had been problems, delays etc with their allocated "delivery slot" for the crane, which should have already been on site...so they are still waiting for it to be delivered and doing what they can in the meantime with a crawler crane! When it arrives, the tower crane is apparently going to sit inside the core as the building climbs, and of course progress should pick up rapidly once it's set up.

While I was out I also grabbed a few more pictures of the continued cladding works on Catherine House.
I'm really impressed with this one, I think it's looking superb!

Catherine House is looking very nice! I've heard there's a new path inside Victoria Park that will run alongside the building, how's that looking?

The approved plans include a new path on the station side of Catherine House, but obviously they can't start that until the site store is no longer needed. Greater connectivity to Victoria Park can only be a good thing.

Master plan?

May I ask if there is any news regarding the city centre master plan? Is Fratton going to be part of it?
