larkin was a great success, Trico looks good, but there are still many more that could be rehab'd. I just don't want to see all these huge former factories house offices, they should be lofts, small workshops or things of that nature...if we dont send that message, we will never get downtown growing for office space.

WIGS? going to the meet?

All of those buildings along Exchange/Seneca Street are prime candidates for lofts. My opinion, keep the offices downtown, make the Larkin area residential or commercial lofts. I was reading a Portland site, they are seeing a big demand for Class-C office space, having the latest technology, but worn and funky. Many young or high-tech firms don't want that flashy, corporate office look.

I agree, but I also think a mix of offices and lofts is good because then you have people living within walking distance of where they work.

just out of curiousity, what grade of office space is the Larkin building?

well one good thing about having lofts downtown is that it is really eating up the prior vacancy rate...if anything it will centralize it more towards commercial only and loft only, then have mixed use fill in after that. If Buffalo ever want to see some new towers, they are gonna have to knock down some old shit (no happening) or fill that old shit with lofts and units (happening).

The developer would probably say class 'A', but I'd say B+ because of the columns.

haha I love the picture of Dragon Express. I used to eat there for lunch all the time, $4 for all you can eat or something ridiculous like that. It's the best / worst chinese food around

Beautiful pics, but (I hate to say it) Buffalo looks like a ghost town here because I couldn't find a single person in these pics.

I know, actually the only shot in all these with an actual person is a shot of myself at City Hall (McKinley Monument) at night.

With no hockey in town, everyone left.
