Where is it?
What is it?
What is the source?

I know it's St. Paul's Cathedral in London, but putting up untagged pics like this should not be acceptable.

The source is right there. Everyone knows the building.
It's without attribution, so free to share. http://www.pinterest.com/explore/st-pauls-cathedral/

It was just there to illustrate the quote and to think about it a little.

It might surprise you to know that outside the UK, particularly in the US*, that building is practically unknown.

It's particularly confusing in a thread that is NOT about London.

*And especially in its territories.

May be free to share, but it must still be sourced as per the rules of this site:

Pal, are you telling a former moderator and year-long member how to give sources for posted content? I'm perfectly aware of the license issues, but here's none. The link is only there to provide an original link.

Anyway, any more examples of new traditional / classical architecture from Puerto Rico to share?

Still, it was alright. Thanks for pointing out anyway, members far too often ignore any licensing/copyright.

@Terick, nice images, but we're rather looking for post-1945 architecture here.

Have a look at e.g. this:
New Classical Architecture

You'll find many American architects and their exemplary work here that I collected:

Hi Everyone,

The Neo Historic thread has been updated and is approaching 200 pages of newly built traditionalist architecture.

We have representations of buildings from all 7 continents (including Antarctica). If you have anything to contribute to the thread it would be much appreciated!

The newest page can be found here:

Un buen ejemplo, aunque es una renovacion, seria el edificio gambaro en el viejo san juan. Lo reconstruyeron por completo pero al estilo de las demas casas coloniales. Vere si puedo subir alguna fotografia

Is something bold like this thinkable in Puerto Rico (on a smaller tower/building maybe)?

The comeback of ORNAMENT thanks to new technology like 3D printing and robotics:

'Eagle Tower' NYC 41 West 57th Street,
A steampunk Neo-Art-Deco architecture revolution of the 21st century?

Obviously simpler, but theres something very interesting there. This is bold.

To be honest it reminds of the Columbus Statue in Arecibo by Zurab Tsereteli, with its sculptings. Of course, thats a statue.

I didn't know that statue in Arecibo, but after googling, I see some similarities. Then there's also the tsar's and ship's statue in Moscow which is similar. You could also compare the tower to a totem pole, Sauron's Tower or anything from Gotham.

The shown 'Eagle Tower' has the character of a showcase design, like the bloated showcars you'd see on an exhibition. Like the Haute Couture of architecture.
It shows what's possible thanks to new technology and design methods (like 3D printing). You know it likely won't look like that if it ever enters a market, but it inspires, impresses and has potential to let more interesting designs enter the mainstream.

I'd be happy to see some of Eagle Tower's elements on a new luxury tower in the area or elsewhere, as we've read there's a lot to come. I think this has some inspiring power that clearly will affect future projects. The beginning of new ornamentation is already there and it's about time, architecture literally means "the art of building /construction".
