According to StadiumDB.com, expansion plans for the Stade Maurise Defrasne (aka Stade de Sclessin), in Liège, were announced in July of 2015. The stadium, home of Standard Liège, has not had a major upgrade since Euro 2000. The president of Standard Liège, Bruno Vernanzi, stated that he wants 7,000 seats in the stadium in the next few years.

Stade de Sclessin would see its southeast and northeast corners filled with additional seating. The changes would also include an increase in corporate hospitality facilities. The stadium's expanded capacity would be between 35,000 and 40,000.

So Belgium had lot's of work on stadiums this summer. Charleroi, Mechelen, Oud-Heverlee Leuven, Oostende and Zulte Waregem renewed parts of their stadiums and the Brugge stadium had some modernization works.

Are there already some pics available?

edit:
Oostende
Renamed Albertparkstadion to Versluys Arena. The new capacity is 8.432, all-seater. €18 million construction costs consist of a new main stand with approx. 3,800 seats (including 1.500 outdoor-business seats, a restaurant, lockerrooms, playerhome, press room and ‘Club 31’) + a new goal stand with approx. 1,000/1413 seats (first it were 1500 standing places). Beside those 2 new stands, pitch have become wider to meet UEFA standard, a renewed business building and 4 new lightning posts.

For pics: see this greatly documented topic: http://www.belstadions.net/forum/vie...=173&start=440

In future, the corners can be closed. For now, avg. fans grew from 6.600 to 7.200.

Mechelen
For now, avg. fans grew from 10.000 to 13.000.

Royal Antwerp

Quote:
In order to further develop the Royal Antwerp FC club after the sporty promotion to first class, a renewed infrastructure is absolutely necessary. Therefore, the club decided to renew Tribune 1 on the Forest Owl.

The new building will include all necessary facilities for a modern infrastructure such as changing rooms for players, referees and staff, a high-end media center for the press, emergency services, catering (open during training and match days), polyvalent spaces, lodges and VIP rooms . These facilities will enable the club to receive its supporters and stakeholders on a higher level with a broader comfort, and to receive business from Antwerp and beyond with good business formulas within a suitable infrastructure.

Why is that roof so short on the render? Will it cover all the rows?

Because it's the first part of the roof. They still have to assemble the part, so it cover all the rows. On the blueprint at post #403 you can see it.

Unlike the two rather dull modern end stands, the replacement looks quite impressive.

About that, I find it weird to see that the highest floor does not have skyboxes. Does someone know what its use is? The Galgenwaard does have skyboxes on that level:

The highest level will be a technical one and will also accommodate the media during the games (tv studios and press seats).

The roof is almost done now. Normally the stand would have been opened to the public this weekend but that is obviously too early. The stand will be tested on November 5 against Charleroi when it will be used by the media, stewards and security forces. The grand opening is scheduled for the game against KV Mechelen on November 25th.

The central hall and reception area is just fantastic.

Now hope that they not going to spoil it with cheap materials and ruin it.
