True, but is there enough business demand? And Eurowings at 1 rotation per week certainly wouldn't cut it for business travel - 3x per week at least I'd say.

Lufthansa want to buy some of Air Berlins aircraft... Seems they are looking more at US expansion but you never know, if they suddenly have a whole lot of additional aircraft they might expand more than just to the US.

One flight a week is what works if 80% of the people coming are European tourists. Don't see that working on the Durban end.

They're looking to pick-up some of the O&D Dusseldorf/Berlin to US traffic that'll be under the Star Alliance Trans Atlantic Joint Venture. Doubt they would look to Durban from Dusseldorf or Berlin since the feed isn't there on the German side. If anything, they would look to start with seasonal service from Frankfurt or Munich, their two large hubs, just like they did with Cape Town. I would think it's a lot priority with Lufthansa right now given how challenging the Air Berlin takeover is likely to be.

Added infrastructure changes on the cards to enhance growth and improve capacity:
- New Aprons for aircraft at OR Tambo
- Refurbish both international Terminals at Cape Town International and OR Tambo International.
- Taxi Way work being in King Shaka
"If the current growth at King Shaka is sustained, then Acsa expects to bring forward the expansion of its international terminal. We’ve only got two wide-body stands and during certain days of the week when there are three wide-bodies it becomes quite mission to process passengers."

Maseko says Acsa only expects to action this within a year or two at best.
