Passengers using The Palm Monorail in Dubai can now board and alight at the newly-opened Al Ittihad Park Station for easy access to Palm Jumeirah’s central park, thousands of residences and the Golden Mile Galleria mall, master developer Nakheel announced today.

Located at the heart of The Palm’s Al Ittihad Park, the station is a stone’s throw from The Golden Mile and within easy reach of The Shoreline Apartments.

Around a million people already use The Palm Monorail each year, with the figure set to rise dramatically as more attractions open on the island. Upcoming developments include Nakheel Mall and The Pointe, both of which will have their own Monorail stop.

The number of Palm Monorail users has risen by 70 per cent in the last four years. In 2013 there were 590,000 passengers, with 685,000 in 2014, almost 878,000 in 2015 and a million in 2016. With around 3,000 people now taking trips each day, the number of passengers in 2017 is expected to exceed 1.1 million.

Nakheel Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said: “The Palm Monorail is one of Palm Jumeirah’s biggest success stories. The opening of Al Ittihad Park Station is a massive boost for the island’s investors, residents, visitors and retailers, and further cements our commitment to providing new services and attractions at this world-famous community. More people than ever can now enjoy the growing number of facilities on Palm Jumeirah – without using a car to reach them.”

The Palm Monorail, which opened in 2009, currently runs from Gateway Station to Atlantis Aquaventure, stopping at the new Al Ittihad Park Station in between. Trains run every 11 minutes, from 9am until 10.30pm daily.

Not a minute too soon! I waited for it to open when I lived there four years ago.

Most probably this will be another mall and 1 or 2 lowrise towers shoved somewhere in their existing malls.

Seven Tides to develop 14-storey project on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah

Seven Tides has revealed that it is in the process of developing Seven Residences, a 14-storey residential structure on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.

Located on a plot of land between Dukes Dubai and The Fairmont Palm Hotel & Resort, the project will boast 1,066 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom serviced apartments.

Seven Tides is currently registering with Dubai Land Department (DLD) and opening an escrow account for the development.

Stylised as SE7EN Residences, the project is in the advanced stages of design, according to Abdulla Bin Sulayem, chief executive officer of Seven Tides.

“In addition to apartments, Seven Residences will include a podium with food and beverage (F&B) outlets, retail offerings, and other amenities for the building’s residents,” he told Construction Week. “It will feature a rooftop infinity pool, which will offer views of Dubai Marina’s skyline and Ain Dubai.”
Unit sizes will range from 28m2 to 159m2, and prices will start at $280,000 (AED1.03m). The property will also feature direct beach access.

Seven Tides’ previous Palm Jumeirah developments include Anantara The Palm Dubai Resorts and Dukes Dubai, which opened in March 2017.

Seven Residences will operate separately from Dukes Dubai, according to Bin Sulayem, who added that his team is mulling the possibility of creating an exclusive, small-scale hospitality offering within the building.

“We may keep part of the inventory, and convert it into a boutique hotel,” he revealed.

Construction works for Seven Residences commenced in September 2017, and the project is expected to complete by December 2019.

28m2?

I wish they hadn't turned Palm to Karama.

It would be great if they could light up the palm trees of the Ittihad Park like the palm trees in the MBR Boulevard in Downtown!

the Park is too dark!
