This time, there was a lot of destruction and dead people in my city.
Now, I must recover and think about helping people less fortunate than me.
Thank you very much for your support. You have no idea how much your words comfort me.
Dear Roberto, first of all - I'm so happy and relieved that you and your
loved ones are save!
But so sad that many people lost their lives, we even read of schoolkids...

Our thoughts and hearts are with Mexico in those hard hours!
I'm sure that international help will come soon, if needed, also sure that we can
give some support from Austria.

I too have the feeling that nature more and more shows her anger about
what mankind has done to her... Those are strong and cruel signs to tell
us all to immediately change our way of treating Mother Earth - before it's
too late...

Christi and Silvia:

I deeply appreciate your warm comments and good wishes, dear friends.

Christi: I hope that the politicians behave respectfully before this terrible event.
There is a fear of looting, but the army deployed thousands of soldiers on the affected sites.

Silvia: What happened at the school Enrique Rebsamen is one of the saddest situations of this horrible tragedy.

Just terrible Roberto! Our thoughts are -once again- by the Mexican and Caribbean people who suffered so much during the past weeks.

We hope this will be the end of the natural disasters and life can be back as normal, without damage, injured or death.

Wish you and your family all the best!

Gratteciel, I'm glad to read that you're well, just like your family and loved ones. This city... this country, did rise once and I have no doubt that it will do so again, stronger and more united than ever.

To be honest, and though it might sound corny, I must admit I couldn't stop myself from crying as soon as the real magnitude of the damage hit me. I cannot even describe that feeling of anger and impotence, being so far away from my beloved country and not being able to participate in the rescue efforts; having to watch the news through a computer screen and WhatsApp conversations with those who are there actually helping, doing something meaningful; it truly is a heartbreaking feeling.

Roballan and Roman:

Thank you for your heartfelt sympathy, dear friends!

Dear Roballan: crying is not a sign of weakness and it is not corny either.
I understand your anguish to be far from your country in times of misfortune.
Just think that what you do now will someday serve the country you love so much.

Dear Roman: Thank you very much because I know that this I CDMX you feel it from heart.

Hi Roberto,
When I've learned about that powerful earthquake in MC, the first thing that came to my mind was you.
Now that you and your love ones are okay, I'm relieved.
I'm wishing for the fast recovery of the people there who are greatly affected by this catastrophy
and praying that everything will be backed to normal as fast as possible.
My prayer.

Dear friend, our feelings are all with you and everyone in Mexico: we're praying and ready to help with everything possible now.

Our best wishes and positive energy, dear Roberto: not easy to express with words what we think while seeing rescue operations in schools yet with children needing help, but I feel confidence about the work of professional mexican teams (among the best in the World, we know this here, and we have been helped by mexican volunteer teams after floods in Brazil), and we hope these children can come back to families as soon as possible;

Hugs, my friend, and we stay praying here.

PS: sorry for not writing more, my mind doesn't work well when I see some images and think about people suffering this way, but be sure I am touched and praying for all our friends there - stay with hope, my friend, and we know how strong mexican people is to go on and come back to life as necessary.

@Roberto: I have seen some photos from Mexico city with damaged and collapsed buildings. These photos are from Mexico city area or just in the epicenter of earthquake?

Christos:

It must be Mexico City. More than 40 buildings collapsed (some of them several floors) and others are about to fall or should be demolished because of the damages.
In fact, the epicenter of the earthquake was 120 kilometers from Mexico City.

Blue dots indicate collapsed buildings.
