En las Antillas menores hay islas que son más pequeñas que la provincia de Santiago, y aún así son países independientes. Miren a Santa Lucía, tiene una superficie que equivale a tan solo el 22% de la superficie de la provincia de Santiago y es un país aparte. Barbados tiene unos 400 km2 (comparado con los 2,800 de Santiago) y es un país rico.

Bueno, déjame callarme para que no nazca un movimiento independentista. xD
