Anyone with access with ccm can check their latest account how are they doing financially ? I heard they are making tonne of losses as well.

I heard they are going for long haul soon with 787-8 which they are going to take over the order from their parent co in indonesia. Can anyone check whether they still have the order with boeing ?

I know mh slimming down creates alot of gap in the market but i am not sure whether you can make money when you are already bleeding.

Look at airasiax, they are really slow death company now. I cant see they ever make money. I cant imagine malindo long haul even more.

Malindo wouldn't have dared to do PEN-SIN. On holidays and on long weekends SilkAir, Jetstar, Tigerair and AirAsia do brisk business, but at other times they have to undercut each other until sometimes it's far cheaper to fly SIN-PEN and self-connect to PEN-KUL than flying SIN-KUL direct.

Time is money... flying sin-pen-kul , one have to waste time fly to pen, transit in pen, then fly down to kul.... and waste energy... and go thru the hustle... if really wanna save budget, one could just take executive bus from sin to kul... 4 to 5 hours journey....comfy....reach right in the middle of kl city..i have experience taking it...and westerners executive also take this bus...kl-sin or kl-pen is just half day journey by hways...dont limit yourself to only flying option....sorry offtopic

"As the talks are still progressing pending final decisions, Malindo now wants to explore a relocation from KLIA2 to KLIA to facilitate the interlining.

Malindo in a statement confirmed that it was in talks with airport operator Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd for the relocation.

Malindo cited reasons for the relocation was due to the engagement with foreign carriers operating out of KLIA for interlining and code share which requires operation in the same terminal so that there is seamless connectivity and convenience for the transit passengers."

I was trying to illustrate that the fares are sometimes so low that it doesn't make financial sense for Malindo to launch Penang - Singapore. It's not like Bali where SQ, KLM, Garuda, Jetstar, Lion, Tigerair, AirAsia can fly several times daily and fares are still relatively high and thus more likely to be profitable.

I read it on CH Aviation which suggests that Lion Group is "considering" rebranding Malindo Air. It certainly makes sense from a management perspective, but I have to credit the Malindo Air and Thai Lion Air team for successfully erasing Indonesia Lion Air's annual crashes out of the public's minds, especially out of Singapore.

Malindo launches daily flights to Hong Kong
February 5, 2016, Friday
http://www.theborneopost.com/2016/02...-to-hong-kong/

KUALA LUMPUR: Malindo Air today continues its international network expansion by launching 2016’s second new services from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong.

The daily services to Hong Kong mark the second of Malindo Air’s destinations in China after Sanya in Hainan Province.

Introductory fare for the new Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong route starts from RM299 for Economy Class and RM669 for Business Class one way, all inclusive.

All fares include perks such as free baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment, a meal and light refreshments.

Malindo Air chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said, “There will be an upsurge of arrivals expected from Hong Kong attributed by the new Malindo Air’s daily services between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. With 1,134 seats per week now available, this could amount to about 59,000 Chinese per year from Southern China taking advantage of the new flights to Kuala Lumpur.”

“Hong Kong is a very strategic tourist port, and our expansion to Hong Kong is another effort to further boost Southern China’s outbound leisure and business travel to Malaysia. Tourist arrivals from China by the end of 2015 have shown a very positive result with 1.25 million visitors,” said Chandran.

Chandran also added that Hong Kong has always been a very popular holiday destination and a go-to holiday spot for travelers.

“With Malindo Air’s current network in India, we will provide seamless connectivity, and this will certainly benefit the country as we will enhance KLIA position as a strategic transit point for travelers from India to China via Hong Kong.”

The narrow-body Boeing 737-800NG aircraft with a seat capacity of 162 with 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats will be deployed on the two services.

The flight time between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong will take 3 hrs 55mins.

For bookings and enquiries, visit www.malindoair.com, write in to Customer Care Centre at customer_care@malindoair.com or call +603-7841 5388 from 7am to 11pm daily.
