aluminum is cheap kasi hehe pero yun nga, it's at the mercy of oxidation. Even if it's treated for corrosion resistance, bibigay at bibigay rin especially sa climate natin na humid, mainit, etc.

SM to expand Mall of Asia

Doris C. Dumlao | Philippine Daily Inquirer | 6:50 PM | Wednesday, November 19th, 2014

Quote:
MANILA—SM Prime Holdings has earmarked as much as P1.5 billion to redevelop Mall of Asia, which will expand its selling area by about a third and become the country’s first shopping mall with a football field on its roofdeck.

--SNIPPED--

The expanded Mall of Asia is expected to open to the public by 2017. Apart from adding one new floor to expand leasable space in the currently two-level mall, SM Prime plans to construct a football field on the fourth level.

Actually if you notice lately SM is getting rid off all the skylight in some of their malls

Example

SM megamall Fashion Hall in render the main atrium should be glass but they change it

in SM Bacolod Expansion the atrium should also have Skylight but they change it also
maybe the reason is Philippines has a very hot climate and electricity are so expensive here. if they put glass skylight it will need too much electricity to make it cooler

SM wants more solar-powered malls

TWO MORE shopping malls of SM Prime Holdings, Inc. will soon utilize solar energy following the inauguration of the mall developer’s first solar rooftop project in SM City North EDSA yesterday.
SM CITY North EDSA is the second SM mall after SM City Xiamen to be powered by energy from the sun. Company officials said that would not be the last.

Anna Maria S. Garcia, president of Shopping Center Management Corp. (SM Supermalls), said SM Prime will also install solar-powered rooftops at SM City Dasmariñas in Cavite and SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

“In essence, SM Dasmariñas will have 3,243 panels that can produce 0.8 megawatts (MW) and SM Mall of Asia will have 10,534 panels for a total of 2.7 MW,” Ms. Garcia told reporters on the sidelines of the switching ceremony held in Quezon City.

Asked about the timeline, Ms. Garcia said: “We are already working on Dasmariñas and that will be ready by May 2015. For Mall of Asia, we hope before the end of 2015.

May crane eh.

It's not just solar panels. I think it's both the expansion and the solar panels because there are also additional parking floors.

Sana nman redesign nila yung exterior ng mall to blend with the modern facade of MOA Arena, Conrad and ECom buildings.Maganda pa yung facade ng MOA Arena parking building kaysa main mall.
