From 1982 to 1990. I'm planning on visiting next year. Not sure if you know him but Michael Edwards of ABC and I were best friends back then,.

Haha (or jaja)..That looks like Venice Beach in LA. I've noticed colours like that are very popular in places like Mexico and much of Latin America.

Certainly living up to the new world city tag. Virtually every building in that first photo has been built in past 25 or so years.

wow, he must have some very big and strong lens to be able to see across the gulf to Yorke Peninsula like that. I dont even think you can see Yorke Pen at all from Mt Lofty Summit with the naked eye.

Fireworks are prob for the opening of the Fringe or Festival

I thought that was unreal as well but looks like it must have been an incredibly clear summers night. Imagine how much more incredible it would look if the Yorke wasn't so flat! It was taken on NY eve btw hence the fireworks.

No offence but does anyone remember that book from the early 1980's "Above Australia" - the first version?? There is a picture of Adelaide in it which almost looks exactly the same as the one above. Shame the skyline hasn't changed much but then again early on before the rise of Brisbane and Perth it was probably considered quite big.

15 -20 years ago, Brisbane and Adelaide were not all that much different. Up until 8 years ago, the tallest building in Brisbane was Central Plaza at 174m. There are now 5 buildings taller (see the pic a few posts above) with 2 buildings above 240m (well almost with infinity). Possibly in 12 years following 2005 (ie circa 2017), Brisbane could have 5 buildings +240m. My point is Brisbane has had a very good recent past, and possibly near future as well, and the same could happen for Adelaide at some point.
