This looks so cool, at 79 m it is not bad. Are they going to be across the mall? It's a shame Belconnen gets ahead Civic in height. Maybe it's just me, but I never pictured Belconnen as a sophisticated area with this type of building. Anyway better in Belconnen than not having it.

Topping out ceremonies (with tree) are a traditional event for construction around the world, and have been for many years.

This crane was meant to come down across the long weekend, but due to strong winds on Saturday and Monday, plus just general crap weather, all they got down before today was the boom.

Saw them pulling it down on Sunday.

Given how tall the mobile crane was I'm not surprised they can't use it in dodgy weather.

Too stumpy.

Really disappointed the Government took 5 levels out of the tower. The whole thing just looks a bit cut-off now.

Hopefully with so many 20+ level projects approved for Belconnen, Geocon will be able to get approval for its taller Section 200 proposal.

I know, but this is Canberra, we have not had something this tall since forever, considering the tallest building in ACT is the Lovett Tower in Woden which is 90 metres built in the 70s this one doesn't fare bad at 88. Like you said maybe the next projects will increase in height.
