Konnichiha,

I have a question regarding urban transit in Osaka. I'd be grateful if someone can tell me about current updates.

The northern part of Higashi-Osaka line is U/C now (It is expected to open in 2018). On its route it passes through Awaji.
Now Awaji serves Senri line and Kyoto line on Hankyu railway. There's also a plan to make elevated section on this station (Due to conflicting routes).

My question therefore
- Which of the lines goes elevated (Kyoto or Senri)?
- How do they manage to get Osaka Higashi line into it's wraps. Given that it is elevated too, isn't it problematic for Hankyu (Kyoto or Senri) line to remain elevated for long.

Arigatou gozaimasu.

Both. And the Osaka Higashi Line is still elevated, only is needed the construction of the second track and the station building at the ground level, maybe.

Osaka Higashi Line on the 2F, and the Hankyu Kyoto and Senri Lines on 4F and 5F. Easy.

This is the current situation on Yahoo Maps, you can see the 2nd track (Osaka Higashi Line), the viaduct under construction on the Hankyu Kyoto Line and preparation works on the Hankyu Senri Line: http://yahoo.jp/ieHBU7

Hanshin 5700 Series

Hanshin Railway held a public visit to the Ishiyagawa and showed the new 5700 Series "JET SILVER" Local train.

The train made a discretionary trip from Osaka-Umeda terminal to the depot and back.

The new train will enter in service in August 2016 and will replace the ancient 5000 Series.
