It's so frustrating not being able to see down into that Margaret Street side.

I don't think it'll be too long now.

I'd imagine until/if they get their hotel operator signed up. Then she'll start to climb.

Layout or height of the resi tower must still be open for debate/change, there's really nothing stopping them building these levels if the structure of the tower was locked in.

Cost. What's the point of building it when you aren't building the rest of thetower yet?

Why make it the exact shape then. 275 George had the lift core etc in place for decades, the building on top was adapted.

Just received the following email from the developer - exciting times!!

Hello, and thank you for your enquiries regarding our new tower development in Brisbane. The planning process has been very complex hence the reason for our delay in getting specific information out to you.
Thank you for your patience

At this point in time we are anticipating to Launch the residential tower in September of this year, or possibly earlier, and will advise you as soon as this occurs.
We plan to release a section of the tower, as the first stage, the lower section comprising of a proposed luxury 5 star Hotel and retail.
In terms of specific detail relating to floor plans and price, these are not available as yet, however we would be happy to record your details on a short list, in the form an expression of interest with a replied email to ensure that you will receive any information first hand as it arises.
Please do not hesitate to call me should you have any further questions regarding this exciting project

Just discovered I have an email too. That certainly will be a start. If they get someone to take on the hotel then the rest of the resi might follow. Wonder what they plan to do with the office tower? Leave it sit for the time?

So when they say that they are releasing the bottom part first with the hotel does that mean you buy a hotel room or is it just mixed between resi and short term?

I assume you buy a hotel room and lease it back to whoever manages the hotel.

I think this was the process with the Westin proposal.

We should all express interest in the apartments to give the developers a bit of hope in the market. Even if our interest is how tall it will end up being and when the hell it will start.

Also, with the basement almost done, or well advanced, it means tower construction will fly up once given the go ahead.
