,all these 'fields' in Leeds that fascinate some folk on here were collieries, forges or sites of long demolished back to back housing. Pit workings in particular are unsuitable to build on and Leeds had 130 coal mines listed in the Business Directory of 1901, add almost the same number of foundries and forges,..it's a no brainer really guys
..and gals.
