A 120-second film teaser is an overview of the largest real estate project in the world, including the world's tallest building, designed by renowned architect, Santiago Calatrava.

Looks amazing, despite the boxy, uninspired and monotone skyscrapers. They are unoriginal and boring. They have the chance to do something truly amazing, but waste so much potential, that it makes me really sad...

no reason to be sad...this is just a "vision" type of video...none of those towers is contractual except THE TOWER (From Calavatra).

Look at Dubai marina, do you think that in the same type of promotional video of dubai marina 8 years before the project was built, towers like Cayan Tower or Damac Heights, or Princess tower appeared ?

Each real estate company for those towers you see on that video will choose its own designer/architect...it could look very different from what you see here.

If all the residentials are done by Emaar, I would bet at least half of them are going to be copy-and-paste of Boulevard Crescent, Boulevard Heights, Forte, Downtown Views, etc.

Harbour Views' plot is fairly premium, and they went with exactly that "average Emaar" style. IMO they should have at least designed and marketed Harbour Views and Creek Residences like The Address series, if not even upscale them to the likes of the Opera cluster. Don't forget the old pre-crisis masterplan was to have the Opera House on that island....

i absolutely agree!
Just Copy-and-Paste without any Creativity at least in exterior Design BUT Luxury!
i want to know why other developers like DAMAC , Meraas , Nakheel , al habtoor and DP should not participate in the important projects like this???
the Masterplan for this area that announced by Sama Dubai (The Lagoons) before financial crisis was wonderful and unique!

I feel like my post in the international forum should be posted here as well, in order to keep up a good protocol of what is going on

______________

Well, here we go: A Google Earth update from December 27th, 2016

Here's a picture of the whole district. Activity is going on almost all around the planned Dubai Creek Harbour district except for the easternmost part. Construction works are focused on the DCH Island and on The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour

Here's a closeup of the construction site of The Tower at DCH The plaza is now clearly visible as well as the foundation of The Tower! I don't know if my eyes play tricks on me, but it looks a lot like excavation works have started all around the plaza. As we already noticed from several renders, the plaza also extends under the ground with lots of shops, infrastructure, etc.

Now to the 24/7 debate about the dimensions of the project. The foundation of The Tower measures 77m in diameter (blue line) The Tower itself will probably be less wide, but we can still expect something around 40m! Even if it is less, the Tower will definitely not look like a mast. In order to set it into perspective: 432 PA is 28m wide and is considered a real tower, of course. The Tower will most likely be even wider, so expect a massive, skyscraper-like structure rising soon
The plaza's diameter is precisely 500m. Not one single meter less or more, just as we expected. (green line)

And here's a close-up of the currently most developed part of DCH - the Island District. This is where all the photographs of Dubai's skyline were taken

Btw, we should all keep in mind that all the satellite photos are three months old. A lot of progress has been made since

great contribution but i have a question : your pictures show 2 circles :

One big one which is the Plaza (500 meters diameter) and the inner circle which you said is 77 meters diameter.

if i understand well, the base support for all those signature wiring cables will be located in between those 2 circles right ? this seems to be confirmed by image post 1067

Progress is made on draining all the water, it's a Landsat image which is a lot less sharp than Sentinel, but at least something to see. From March 7.

Great to see such rapid progress being made on site. I was part of the team that designed the new promenade at RiseDCH and it's great to see the developments rise up around it

Sixth Crossing will connect to Dubai Creek Harbour in the Ras al-Khor area

Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has invited consultants to submit proposals by mid-April for the design of a Sixth Crossing across Dubai Creek.

The structure will bridge the waterway in the Ras al-Khor area and will provide access to the Dubai Creek Harbour development from the Oud Metha/Jadaf area.

The winning consultant will prepare designs for a signature bridge and less expensive crossing with a more basic design. It is understood that the crossing, in addition to road traffic, will also be used by the proposed Dubai Metro Green Line extension that will connect Creek Station with Academic City.

A Sixth Crossing has been designed before. In 2006, the RTA appointed US-based Parsons to prepare designs for a Sixth Crossing that at the time would have linked the Lagoons (which is now Dubai Creek Harbour) and Dubai Health Care City phase II.

Dubai is also working on the Shindagha corridor scheme that will also include a new crossing across the Creek. Parsons was appointed as the engineering consultant for that scheme in 2015.

The RTA was also planning to move forward with the construction of the new Ittihad Bridge that will replace the existing Floating Bridge. After receiving expressions of interest (EoIs) from contractors in 2014 there has been little progress on the project.

For the Creek extension, which opened late last year, Dubai built new bridges taking Sheikh Zayed Road, Al-Wasl Road, and Jumeirah Beach Road across the new waterway.

New proposed tower at DCH over 60 storeys tall

I believe Emaar is wasting its front land plots with normal boring designs
