Being honest, it's hard to believe that this stadium is going to be settled up and ready for the beginning of the next season. Unless they do a partial opening and they keep working while hosting games.

There's a lot to do: chairs, interiors, parking, roads, lighting, etc.

5 months are nothing, time goes by so fast.

"Cut the bulls***"......?

What kind of talk is that on a forum that is meant to be about discussing stadia and stadium design?

I merely made a simple observation about a stadium I have visited a few times, and the issue of athletics stadium stand geometry etc. As regards owning the site, presumably they also didn't own the new site prior to this redevelopment. Several other clubs don't own their stadia, yet redevelopment and/or new stands have still been built at many of these... Also many have acquired a new roof even if they never had one before. (And you don't have to look too far to see a famous example of that. Therefore, I wasn't in anyway suggesting anything outlandish (or bulls***).... quite the opposite in fact.

I hope they do end up with Champion's League Final. Baku Stadium has tracks and I would prefer to see UCL at football specific stadium.

I do not understand anything...

As for the date of the inauguration, I suggest making "tipical spanish porra" (a bet): the month of the inauguration.

Ioanes bet 3 euros to OCTOBER.

So what you are saying is that Atletico sacrifice at least 15k seats compared to the oplympic stadium since to install the track you lose the bottom tier (20k), so to reach your 65k you need to ad at least 15k seats.

Sounds ridiculous if you ask me.

You have an interview with the architects a few pages back, in the lower level would not lose so many seats.
But today, an Olympic bid is an option discarded.

You must close issues that are already closed:

1º Is this stadium ready to install an athletics track?: Technically yes, The same system used in stadium´s Goteborg in the Commonwealth Games 2014.

2º Will we ever see an athletic track in the Wanda Metropolitano?

a. In an Olympic Games NO:

-Because no local government would dare to return this error that has so badly damaged the image of the politicians of Spain.

-Even in the hypothetical case of an Olympic bid, Madríd would never be chosen in the next 50 years:

We all know that the next European venues will be: Paris, Rome and Berlin. The credibility of the corrupted CIO and the Olympic spirit of Cubertáin, which reached its zenith with Barcelona 92, will not be repeated in many decades.

b. In an IAAF World Athletics Championships ?: It is very unlikely, it is not compatible with the Atletico Madrid League calendar. It is more likely that Valencia host such championships before Madrid.

3º. The initial design for athletic stadium, is it a problem for the correct vision of soccer? No. The architects of the stadium have done a magnificent job, the distances from the stands to the pitch are similar to the great temples of world football.

4º. Madrid without Olympic games, what is the purpose of this stadium?

We are tired of seeing, like stadiums built for great events.
Coughing, are left undone after the event or end up being spawned as the Olympic Stadium in London.

The Wanda Metropolitano is the opposite: a great soccer stadium, with life 365 days a year, which houses the best soccer in the world.

Does not host finals of Euro and WC: but eighth, fourth and semifinals of Champión League.
Atlético de Madrid-Barça...Real Madrid.. Sevilla... Bayer...
Does not host exhibition matches, but league games and Champion League.
It hosts concerts, the best artists in the world.
It hosts the Cup final of the best soccer world championship next to the FA Cup: The Cup of his Majesty the King.

Spain has won a great stadium for our passion and part of our lives: football, not athletics.

Photos last days

To specify one thing, although it is not completely observed in the photos. There are many outdoor movements, in multiple areas, to carry out: access, urbanization and outdoor parking in the next few weeks
