First picture is rather controversial, looks colonial-esque

I feel like our people look like spectators in most of this pics and not participants in the construction. I wonder how the Turks are approaching work ethics, training and knowledge transfer in general.

Seismic zone. Rift Valley. flexible buildings for earthquakes. After Kombolcha to Mekele they are concrete pilars by Chinese engineering.

By the way, are the steel pillars and beams manufactured in Ethiopia or are they imported?

I would like to make a quick clarification about the project. The bridge designer is a Spanish company called TEC-CUATRO S.A.. BILFINGER is involved in the project as well but not as designer. They are the manufacturers of most of the steel parts. SYSTRA, as someone mentioned previously is the controller.
This isn't 'normal' steel u can order en bulk and process locally.

I'm very disappointed with the Turks ... they've brought in a LOT of people from their country. Doesn't look like there's a lot of skills transfer going on here (based on the pictures being posted). The locals seem to be employed as menial laborers only. Very disappointing.

I would think we would want to master the technology. It has such an impact on future projects.

Its just because the Turks are taking selfies of their own , I see the same faces on most pic's , I am sure there are thousands of Ethiopians working on every level.
