Mass housing constructions are almost always ugly. Obviously they want to do everything as cheap and quick as possible with no consideration for aesthetics.

Wow! That is beutiful. Really simple structures too. They could build something like this just as cheaply as the boring dated looking blocks they build.

This picture above is an exception. Unfortunately mass housing in Turkey consists of cheap looking highrises, mostly copy/paste. Iran seems to have chosen the easier way as well. Pity for our cities.

^ meh you know what the difference is? Those housing projects are seen a lot in costal towns in turkey, lot of europeans buy themselves a second house there to rent out week after week to tourists or to reside themselves for a week or two a year, they don't need it to be "perfect". The Iranian ones are permanently habited. But then again, in the ghetto areas of Holland we see worse 60's style buildings and people in those areas have on average comparable income as middle class Iranians. I believe these projects are meant for middle class Iranians.
