Not so fast The-s. Not so fast. Mister79 is a very knowledgeable person. If surprised by some of his claims you better check first.

For the party newspaper to tell people that it was good for them to eat less at a time when it was also spinning fantasies about the bounty being engendered by the Great Leap was a relatively small, if telling, irony. At the larger, horrific center of Mr. Becker's account is the widespread resort among the Chinese people to that most sickening form of desperation: cannibalism, the selling of human flesh on the market, the swapping of children so people could use them for food without committing the additional sin of eating their own.

"People died in the family and they didn't bury the person because they could still collect their food rations; they kept the bodies in bed and covered them up and the corpses were eaten by mice. People ate corpses and fought for the bodies. In Gansu they killed outsiders; people told me strangers passed through and they killed and ate them. And they ate their own children. Terrible. Too terrible."

Your ignorance is not necessarily other people’s stupidity.

On something more about morocco :

Quote:

I was also shocked when I heard this for the first time. I remember that I saw once a docu in the nineties about cannibalism in China. People used to tell that they ate their childeren or sold their childeren to their neighbours who ate them..Cannibalism was very common in China, because of the hunger..

Quote:
Starved by Mao, Cannibal China Ate Earth, Robbed Graves:

Children were sold. Cannibalism was practiced. Burial grounds were dug up and corpses used for fertilizer. People ate leaves, roots, poisonous berries, leather, stolen unripe crops and even the earth itself before succumbing.
