Nooooo.

I asked if I could paint that wall, they said they'd already lined someone up.

But then I got asked to paint the highgate drycleaners, so i did a big piece there.

I recommend having a look at this, it's free in the post office building. Bit of a mind boggle:

STAN'S CAFE

OF ALL THE PEOPLE IN ALL THE WORLD

SAT 9 FEB 2013 - SAT 2 MAR 2013

As you enter you are handed a grain of rice. That grain of rice is you. There are a lot of other people there. Hundreds of millions. Each represented by a single grain of rice. In heaps and patterns and piles: all the people in our time zone GMT +8. 1.54 billion. 30 tonnes of rice.

In a hauntingly beautiful, constantly shifting, sculptural landscape, the sheer vastness of population is captured, bringing to life previously incomprehensible statistics and presenting them in eloquent visual form.

Just a shame they didn't have a pile showing the world population, but looking at the 1700's pile, I don't think it would have fit in there.

if anyone ever gets a chance to see them (theyre a melb based band) pls do so. incredible one of a kind act, reminded me of the first time i saw the roots live where i knew i was seeing something special. they are going to be massive.

I've been really slack when it comes to live music here. Will make an effort to check them out.

Apparently this work has been tagged already. One of the Councillors v. upset about it. What's the protocol here? It is hard to reconcile supporting street art with getting upset when people tag street art?

^ tagging is for immature and/or spiteful dickheads. street art is, well, art.

There is a big difference between street art and tagging.

The artist director of the Perth Fesitival was on RTRFM this morning. He mentioned that the festival sold 90% of its tickets, something like 200,000 tickets. Pretty f...ing impressive for a city apparently down on cultural activities

More like starved for alternative cultural activities that are not elitist, out of touch with general audiences, and generally accessible.

Independent Record Day, Perth - I hope at least some of you went out and supported Perth's local record stores yesterday!
