Indeed that third picture looks a treat.
Check out the ocean in the distance, it looks like its glowing blue.

The amazing thing about these pictures is that they are very realistic! These ARE the colours of Greece! And that 3rd pic captures the essense of it all!

We can't see any of the pics my friend....I see you got these from Trek Earth. That site is copyrighted so you will have to save the pics and upload them onto another host site like imageshack or flickr....these are free sites.

Sorry about that guys. Since the images are copyrighted I will not copy them to another host site - instead here are the links to the images

Sorry file...the links don't work either....

Alos, I don't necessarily agree with your assessment that the pics are "all" from the touristy and common areas of Greece. Many of the pics I posted were from Paramithia & Thesprotia, Acheron River, etc. Of course the pics of Mykonos, Santorini and athens are well known but the thread was about their incredible colours.

Sorry guys - once again I need to apologise for my ineptness.

One way around this problem is to simply cut and paste the image link into your browser URL textbox and hit your Enter button.

Leafy my intention was not to criticize the images of aegean Greece, I just think that pictures of Myconos and Santorini are commonplace, whereas the beauty of continental Greece is seldom publicized.

Bella Italia. STS, we need to see some pics from Kapri and Lake Komo. Do you have a relevant thread or something? Unbelievable!!!

Also @ Leafs Fan: Guys, I am a fervent suporter of Continental Greece too. I mean, Epirus,Vikos, the mountains of Pindos are amazing.

One thing that has to be pointed here as it has been observed by many visitors is the diversity of the landscapes one may see in Greece. Islands, mountains, plains, you name it. True, you find this diversity in other countries too, but they are multiple times the size of our country. This happens because the terrain in Greece is diverse. Looks like God wanted this land to have a lot of spice!!! It on;y takes a visit to the Meteora and then to Volos to understand the many aspects that in order to see in the US for instance you have to travel for thousands of miles...

And there is this light

Grigori, actually Greece has a surface area of 310,000 sq kms that's almost the same with Poland 312,000 or Finland 338,000,, Germany 357,000 or Italy 301,000, or Spain with 505,000 and from all those the only two comparable with Greece are Italy and Spain, guess why; because of their location the blessed 35 to 47 degrees (Greece 35N-42N Italy 35.50N-47N Spain 36N-43N) zone, the transition between Mediterranean and Central European climates.

Also to an addition we have something Italy has but in a lesser degree and Spain hasn't at all. The confluence of two wind streams the Gulf stream from the west and the Syberian from the NE,
