#PROPOSED: PEARL TOWERS (53F+55F/Com+ Res)

PEARL OF THE DESERT
WSP Group; Solutions; Winter Issue 2005 (page 8/9)

Rising from the desert, there can be no more
powerful statement than a skyscraper, proclaiming
the wealth and prestige of its owners through the
power and opulence of its design.

The Middle East is a new market for WSP and we
have made an auspicious start by winning an
international design competition, in conjunction with
Dar Al Riyadh architects of Saudi Arabia, to design
Pearl Towers, a prestigious development in the Seef
District, the prime commercial area in Manama, the
capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The development will consist of a commercial and a
residential tower at 53 and 55 storeys respectively
,
with retail, recreational and social areas and parking.
A distinguishing feature will be a 28m diameter ‘Sky
Dome’ three quarters up the building between the
two towers. This contains two up-market restaurants,
accessed from ground level via twin panoramic
elevators, which continue up to a helipad at the top
of the residential tower.
