Iglesia El Rosario - San Salvador, El Salvador
(Church of the Rosary)

A traditional wooden structure burned down in the 1950's, which had replaced a colonial structure that succumbed to an earthquake in 1873.

In the 1960's a local architect convinced the Salvadoran catholic church to build his brutal church, for which we are lucky. There's nothing like it in the world. The play of light as the sun passes over the arched structure, light peeks in through colored glass in slits and holes.
