Does anybody have any renderings of these cancelled projects? Not necessarily the Adelphia Tower, but the 2nd MMB and the Main-Swan one. I've heard a few comments about the Marine Midland one lately, but I had never heard of it (of course it was before my time). Don't tell me it would have been another buff colored box, maybe about half as tall?
I believe the second part of the project was supposed to be a twin tower at the exact same height.

I did the best I could on this... but ladies and gentlemen...

the new city of Buffchester or Rochalo, whatever... Buffalo and Rochester combined... I did this using basic MS Paint.

some buildings may be hard to find, but most of Rochester's significantly talls are in there.

I'm freakin loosing it here...thats hillarious.

Buffchester looks sharp, now if we could put the buildings where we want them...that would be a sweet city of just over 500,000.

Unless one cuts you off in traffic... then you might call them something else entirely.

It's like the Colussus, but 10 times better. Revolving restaurant in the bowling ball, and traffic cams for eyes. He should be facing the falls though.. not sure why.

That bowling trophy is frickin' hilarious!

Maybe it's a sign - bowling as a sport has fallen on hard times, with many alleys having closed (not just in Buffalo) over the past 10-20 or so years. But I heard late last year that bowling was either the fastest-growing, or becoming one of the largest high school club sports (either one, not both). Meaning young bowlers coming up through the ranks to revive the sport. Hopefully there'll be a parallel.

I like the Buffalochester skyline, but I don't see First Federal or the "Claw". Those are two of my Rochester favorites! Kodak is absent too, unless that's off out by Central Terminal or Delaware Park or something.

Good God, maybe it's a good thing then. HSBC is ok in small doses, along with the fact that it is our sole prize possession in terms of height (what contest in hell do you win a prize like that from?); and it really is a pretty massive building. But a second one - that's skyline suicide. WTC may have been ugly to some, but at least it didn't stick out like a sore thumb.

And lastly, that picture of Toronto sans CN Tower looks freakier than Buffalo with the CN. SkyDome (as I still call it) and a few of the CBD talls are still recognizable (to me at least), but I bet 90% of the population wouldn't recognize that city.

(Unrelated talk, but since we are adjusting skylines here), I wonder what would result if you took the Renaissance Center out of Detroit's skyline. It would make Detroit's skyline maybe look GOOD.
