By: A Mid Day Correspondent
October 11, 2005

The Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI) is all set to hold its 7th Mega Property exhibition to cater to the increasing demand for houses during festive season.

This will be held at the Bandra Kurla Complex from October 12 to 16, 2005 and will showcase the finest properties of India giving wider choice to home seekers.

MCHI known for its high profile property exhibitions has attracted not just Mumbai's but India's leading property developers, who will showcase not just Indian but International properties as well.

This year's exhibition will be co-organised by ICICI Bank and HSBC. The sponsors are LIC Housing Finance with IDBI Bank and Kotak being co-sponsors.

Bigger and better

Property 2005 will spread over an area of 35,000 sq metres consisting of six multiple halls. It will have leading property developers and Housing Finance Institutions (HFI) participating from Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, as well as from Dubai!

Convenor and Chairman, Exhibitions, MCHI Dharmesh Jain, said, "The coming festive season starting from Dassera is an auspicious period for people wanting to buy homes. This exhibition will give home seekers a wide array of properties to choose from, with good discounts being offered on spot bookings made at the venue itself."

Said Mayur Shah, Chairman PR & Advtg. Exhibitions, "Customer response has been very encouraging to buying homes during the festive period, which has propelled us to hold this exhibition annually, during the period starting from Dassera. This exhibition has entire industry participating, which has always given a credibility to all our property exhibition shows."

Specially for you

Commenting on benefits for home seekers Sunil Rohokale, ICICI said, "For customers booking their homes at the exhibition and seeking loans, we will sanction home loans on the spot at a special interest rate, and ICICI would be offering innovative products to suit customer needs."

Speaking on personal finance options Nicholas Winsor, HSBC said, "Buying a house is the single biggest investment that many of us will make in our lives. HSBC will support potential customers at this event through our range of innovative products, supported by first rate customer service that is the hallmark of HSBC".

Property 2005 will have reputed builders and developers from Mumbai and other cities showcasing their properties, and also leading Banks, Home Insurance and housing finance companies offering special packages designed exclusively for this property exhibition.

Certain developers will be offering special discounted rates to those customers making spot bookings at the venue itself. Manufacturers, suppliers and designers of décor and lifestyle products will also be participating.

Gaining in strength

Having made a modest start back in 2000, with a participation of just 50 participants that included the HFIs at the time, this first exhibition had recorded a business turnover of Rs. 172 crore.

This included the loan sanctions and spot booking of homes that happened during the event and through the leads that were generated through it.

In the Sixth MCHI organized Property Exhibition in January 2005, the number of visitors touched close to two lakh, showcasing some of the finest projects in and around Mumbai, and even abroad. The event recorded Rs 900 crore property booked and Rs 800 crore worth of housing loans sanctioned.

MCHI with its clear focus on giving the real estate industry a direct access to the home buyer, has designed these exhibitions to be an extremely effective route for builders and developers to reach out to the home and property buying public of Mumbai.

Always working in interests of the local real estate industry, MCHI has constantly worked towards bringing innovative ideas and concepts to the markets. It's ability to bring together participants from other cities, including Pune, Nashik, Goa, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Kerala, Indore and Dubai have given it a clear edge in the minds and hearts of Mumbai's home buying public.
