Is this serious????

I don't mean to sound heartless or sceptic, but someone just tell me this isn't a kind of forum prank to get the Downfallen naysayers off his back?

He's seriously dead??

I mean jeezus, I never even met the guy but I feel like I've lost someone I knew in real life. I only conversed wtih him a few times through the private messaging on this forum, asking about photography, and of course I always admired his contribution to the London section, his photos were always beond anything that you could expect to find on an ameteur architecture forum like this, both in terms of their quality and their location.

Some will have questioned his methods, I guess with his safety in mind, and I too felt ambiguous about it at times, but I could never criticise him when I saw the shots he took, simply breathtaking.

I have tried to live my life so far taking risks, but lately I've been playing it far too safe, and here was a guy living life literally on the edge, so I guess if he could do it...

RIP man, may your photos on here be a lasting reminder of your quality!

I will always remember the first time i saw his photo of the millenium dome in a sea of fog. That is how I introduced myself to him before the Broadgate tower meet up.

So sad that he didnt get to experience London Bridge Tower.

You can see it here:

I remember seeing when it was first posted as well, just on a whole different level to anything I've seen on this forum.

I'm new here but wanted to add my condolences. I spoke with DF a few times on 28days and he was a thoroughly nice man. An inspiration to many people in many fields, and many communities will be feeling the loss today.

RIP Downfallen

That pic has been my desktop since I first saw it. I am greatly saddened by the loss of probably the finest photographer on SSC UK.

RIP Downfallen.

What the!?!?

This is terrible news. I still can't quite grasp it as serious....

RIP Darren / Downfallen. Whatever some may have said about his methods, his pictures were truly pieces of art - and more importantly, he just seemed such a nice guy. I feel there should be more to say than that, but I guess I should leave that to those who knew him better.

My condolences to his family, freinds and to his fiancee. Compared to us losing his pictures, well, their loss doesn't compare - and the timing...

I don't know what to say...

It's probably too early to say this... sorry if it's inappropriate, but is anyone gathering together his pictures? It is quite simply a stunning body of work - and a way for him to live on.

He was a man of tremendous talent and determination. Despite having only spoken to him on here a few times, I can safely say that he has inspired me greatly. He brought a whole new dimension to this forum, doing things that many of us only think about.

I offer my condolences to his family and girlfriend.

Unbelievable.

One of few people that have extreme courage and enthusiasm to do the things he has done as well as being an excellent contributor to this forum.
