Hi there. In August 2009 there were reports in Brazilian media that Aeroflot was considering a return to the country (flights to Sao Paulo with a stop in either Recife or Fortaleza were mentioned). Do you know if there are still plans for flights to South America?

By the way, what is the equipment used in the SVO-HAV flights?

pietro-rj, yes there were some rumors about AFL to be back to South America, i heard about Caracas but as i know now they are going to open new flights to Cancun and Mexico from winter schedule. Transaero did 1 weekly flight to Rio on B747-400 from January to March 2011, but it wasnt successful unfortunately.

On SVO-HAV route they use A330-200, same to Puna Cana, sometimes they put A330-300.

"Aeroflot" is interested in purchasing A380

Aeroflot Russian airlines creates a working group for A380 acquisition, RBC source has informed. However, according to the interlocutor in the company, during MAKS-2011 air show signing of concrete documents isn't planned.
As he has informed, «possibility of acquisition, signings of documents is studied only, not planned». As he said, it can be direct purchase of liners with delivery starting 2015.

The operation of these newest very efficient aircraft will allow us to create optimal conditions for passengers on the expanding network of domestic and international destinations. It is important that the agreement signed today will contribute to further growth of civil aviation in the country." "We are convinced there is a real market for the A320neo in Russia. We welcome Transaero as a new A320 Family customer and we are extremely pleased that Transaero chose our new efficient aircraft for its medium-haul fleet. Aeroflot has put the second Sukhoi SuperJet 100 into operation

Russian Aviaton » Thursday August 25, 2011 18:35 MSK
Aeroflot – Russian Airlines has put the second Sukhoi SuperJet 100 into operation. It has been named after the famous pilot of Aeroflot Dmitry Ezerskiy. The aircraft named after D.Ezerskiy will perform its first commercial flight on August 27th on route Moscow-St. Petersburg-Moscow, the airline reports. AEX.ru

Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (serial number 95010) has been delivered to Aeroflot in accordance with the contract with VEB-Leasing on financial leasing of the aircraft. The delivered aircraft is intended for transportation of 87 passengers in a comfortable two-class cabin (12 seats in the business-class and 75 – in the economy class). The maximum range is 2,300 km.

Aeroflot has ordered 30 SSJ100s. In addition, it plans to acquire ten more. The first SSJ 100 of Aeroflot has been put into operation on June 16th. It performs regular flights from Sheremetyevo to St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Ufa. Astrakhan will be added to this list of cities since September 2nd.

«Aeroflot was the first Russian airline to operate SSJ100, - said CEO of Aeroflot, Vitaly Savelyev. – They are becoming an important part of our fleet, one of the Europe’s youngest and advanced fleets. The doubtless leadership in domestic air lines – one of the main clauses of our strategy of building a global network company. The maintenance of this leadership is an important objective of our short-haul SSJ100 aircraft, which are demonstrating a great potential. The first SuperJet has already performed flights on our domestic routes. In future these vehicles will be also operated on international destinations».

«We are grateful to our launch customer – Aeroflot – for an opportunity to confirm good operational capabilities of SSJ100 during intense operation and we are glad that the passengers and airline’s personnel like our liner, - said the president of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, Vladimir Prisyazhnuk. – We will continue providing a comprehensive support to Aeroflot on the initial operation stage and we will also provide a quality post-sales support. We hope our SSJ100 will become a perfect instrument for development of the airline’s regional network».
