dude, cool design just ditch the carpark. In brisbane our main stadiums hold 52,500 & 45,000 and there is not 1 public carpark. the entire crowd commutes for free on Public Transport. This has allowed us to build the stadiums within very small parcels of land very close to the CBD that even overhang busy city streets.

Unless you vote for the Greens keep the carpark. Not everybody can easily catch public transport, you might live far away from it, you might be disabled in some way or old, you might have children with you and not want to take pt, the system workers might strike or the whole system could go down for some unforseen reason. And 52,000 people cramming to get on trains and buses at the end of a match is hell, especially when half of them are pi$sed (drunk).

Stadiums without carparks just suck.

Dude, they desperately need carparks. It takes forever to get a train and the buses don't run enough. We left the Cauldron (Suncorp) at 9:30pm and arrived home at 1am for a 50 minute trip.

there are UEFA/FIFA restrictions If you want to host serious games ( EC or WC) (10% of capacity or sth)

i suppose not too relevant in this case but FIFA and UEFA do require parking for VIP's etc, as well as for operational reasons..and to provide basic services to the stadium

If you want to host EC or WC on a stadium it has to have big enough carpark
stadium must have 500 bus parking places - car parking places are determined by size of the stadium ( in% of seats) (f.e. Host of the final must have carpark with 500 bus and 10000 car places)

It's been done before but never on a stadium. Glass would be better than acrylic in this case and you would need to run current to thin wafer LCD. By the flick of a switch you can make it dark.

If you dont get what I mean think of a digital watch. They already have used this on glass in offices, hospitals and in limos. The same could also be done with colour LCD but would be rather more expensive.

LOL how can you not get it? I thought of this when i was 10 years old, pity I didn't know what a patent was then!

Two thin panels of glass with liquid crystal in between - apply current and it turns from clear to smokey black. Easy peasy.

Yep get what you saying but it would be rather expensive running Liquid Crytal through the whole place, I saw something using firbre optics,& it can light up.

On another note I was impressed with the stadiums and I wanted to come up with something too. Here is a group of 3 stadiums/arenas all with moveable roofing.

I was inspired after seeing the glassy designs from Gioяgos.

These designs are still rather simple and lack alot of detailing but they give an idea of how they might look in this style.

Here is 'Five Rings'.
CentraCity - Australia.

This is a reconfigurable Olympic Stadium - currently pictured in Soccer format. The petals/blades/arms could be used to contain offices, parking, exhibition space, other sports halls.

Hmmm, but it would probably make a better starship.
If we grew grass up the slope it could be our new parliament house too!
