Its time for Russia in 2014. Such a powerful Winter Olympic nation to have never hosted. It's a good chance for Russia to show its new face. It is a different country to the one that hosted the 1980 Olympics.

If Vancouver 2010 is the "Sydney 2000" of the Winter Olympics, then Sochi 2014 is the "Beijing 2008"

I really don't care a thing about a Winter Olympic stadium. In Summer Olympics, much more often takes place within the stadium. Here, people march in and march out, you don't need flair. The Salt Lake City ceremonies were held in a 46,000 capacity college football stadium with no fancy glass rooves or glamour. Worked fine.

Sad to see where Russian money flows...
Poison in London, billion dollar stadiums on the Black Sea.
I have a strange feeling they'll win and I am afraid it would neither be benficial for Russia nor for the Olympics.

I decide what to keep for myself, not you.

And it seems that I care for the Russian people more than you do.

According to the bid index, Salzburg is ahead of the other candidate cities followed by the others. Strange isn't it but hasn't Austria already hosted the winter olympiad twice? Oh well, personally, the olympics (winter or summer) need to be restricted to being held in first world, developed, democracies which basically means that only the northern hemisphere (except for Australia) and only North America, Western Europe, and In East Asia (South Korea, Japan). I mean no athlete want to come to compete in a nation where they have to endure the sight of starving beggers eating insects.

Russia is one of countries that won the most medals in winter olympics and that never organized it yet ! So it's clear you know nothing of olympic games and that you are russophobe.

Wow, the stadium looks amazing! Since I saw the application for hosting the Olympics I said " Sochi will get it!"
Well we are holding our fingers crossed! Go Sochi...

the russians will most probably win because of political reasons the design isn't that bad ( it could have been worse)

but Korea doesn't have gas which is valuable to half of the EU and they don't have much oil either. but let's not discuss politics, k? the topic is the design of the stadium ... and it doesn't look like a Faberge egg like someone wrote
