Comparison with the Palace of Culture:

So "only" 230m to the roof, but really cool design anyway

Wow, the design looks so sophisticated, of course it's sophisticated it's designed by Foster + Partners: Innovative Architecture & Integrated Design after all.
Congrats!

Supertall, or not it really doesn't matter. Step by step our city develops, growing high and filling post-war/post-communistic lacks in urban fabric. And it just looks great imo.

Jury's out for now, the spire looks different on the physical model versus renders. But the structure is integral part of the building, an extension of the highest elevator shaft to the roof observation deck:

Ground elevators will only reach middle observation deck, the roof one will be accessibly only from middle one through the "spire elevator" from what we know:

The comparison between Varso Tower to the Shard is as illustrated below: BTW, they might as well have left out the spire which makes the otherwise nice building ugly. Add 10 meters to the height and that would have been the highest building in Poland.
But similar thing is with the Shard. Assuming this criteria, the Shard has height of 244 meters! Look very closely https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...arden_2015.jpg

This is definitely the best news for Warsaw in terms of development this year so far. And I believe (I'd like to be mistaken) it will stay on the top of the list by the end of 2017.

I so like the shape of it! It looks great! Not too chunky, not too slim... Just right! And who cares if the height of it is measured with a spire? It will be the tallest building in EU and that's it! The area will also look hell a lot better than now. And the Warsaws skyline is getting there

All best from Łódź!

For being the tallest tower in the city (and Poland) I find the design a bit bland. It would look good when surrounded by taller buildings, but not when it is the tallest building itself.
Also I hope the big parking lot in the rendering next to the tower is just for illustration purposes and not part of the plan. That brownfield parking lot is big enough for another development.

It's not their area. They used the full potential of the plot.

PKP is the owner. They wanted to build 200+ meter tower here but canceled/held the project.

It's not part of this investment - another plot, another owner. Parking already exists and waits for "better days" (this was planned here, but because of the political reasons it was delayed: http://r-scale-6f.dcs.redcdn.pl/scal...=1024&dsth=768)

Nope, this terrain owns PKP( National Polish Railways) and is above railway tunnel so it's problematic. The only way to build something on this place is to interact investment with modernization of "Średnicowa" railway line which is coming soon. Moreover, there was project of "Centralna Park" but as far as i know it was abononed after the government change.

That's an interesting issue because as far as we know it's a spire so all this transmiter-like structures are purely decorative and will not serve any practical purpose. Actually it seems to be heavily inspired by the spire of Palace of Culture that was later converted into an antenna:
