June 2, 2010

The projects cover the flights, sea and rail between the two countries

The first project - said the deputy -''and 'making the operating agreement of 2009 for five direct flights to five cities' Italian, starting probably from connecting Shanghai and Venice. Currently there are only two direct connections from Milan and Rome.''

The second project - still Urso said -''the creation of maritime customs corridors. In this sense - he added - we have already 'signed a government agreement and a customs agencies in Tianjin and Genoa. In the port of Tangin is also emerging a large area logistics for small and medium-sized Italian companies.''
The third project concerns the development of rail freight. In China, said Vice Minister of Economic Development,''are making a fast train between commercial Chongqing, Shanghai, Beijing and Moscow to reduce the 20 days shipping time to Germany.

AD LOGISTICS,
SPAIN NO STOP

Despite the economic crisis and cuts in public expenditure, Spain will not surrender to invest in the development groped to regain lost ground in the production and trade. So, within weeks of the plan to curb spending launched by the head of the national government, Jose Zapatero, the President of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, has launched the project that has the ambition to become the main logistics center Mediterranean, or the Parque de Actividades Económicas of Arganda del Rey, a small town near the capital. An area of 2.7 million square meters will create a platform logistics industry that can accommodate 120 companies and create 16,000 jobs. The investment is estimated at 582 million euros until 2015, which for the most part, about 475 million will come from the private and the public company Arpege we put the other 106 million. Public funding will go to infrastructure works, infrastructure links and the necessary environmental studies, while the private money will be used for logistics facilities.

Arganda platform complements the "port him in Madrid, which already works and is a major collector of intermodal traffic and Spanish as a model in Italy would streamline the development dell'interportualità on the basis of a national strategy. But the new project aims even higher. Arganda is in fact only one of the leading edge of an even larger project, which envisages the creation of a crown of seven logistics platforms around the Spanish capital. The Autonomous Community of Madrid, as mentioned Aguirre, produces 19% of national GDP, generating 23.6% of imports and 12.2% of exports and attracts 65% of foreign investments in Spain. Here are located 37 of the top 100 national logistics companies, by revenue.

The works for the construction of the platform will begin in the second half of 2010 and the first activity should be undertaken in 2013. "This initiative, which - said Aguirre - involving more than 90 members, will make it possible that our Comunidad become a major logistics centers in the world and one of the 10 regions of the world's most innovative and dynamic," 2020. About the project Madrid Plataforma Logistica, which provides for the creation of seven logistic areas such as this, Aguirre added that the regional government believes "that the creation of jobs and wealth is the first social policies and that the principal function of government, especially in times of crisis, is to foster an environment conducive to entrepreneurship. "

London Gateway, 3.5 million TEU container port, UC

London Gateway

Check out the awesome video:
http://www.londongateway.com/portal/...N_GATEWAY/Home

London Gateway is a major new deep-water port, which will be able to handle the biggest container ships in the world, under construction on the north bank of the River Thames in Thurrock, Essex. In addition to the new port, the development will include one of Europe’s largest logistics parks, providing effective access (by road and railways) to London and the rest of Great Britain. The development will dramatically increase the capabilities of the Port of London in handling modern container shipping.

The project is being undertaken by DP World, one of the largest marine terminal operators in the world. Construction began in the first quarter of 2010 and is expected to take several years, with the port and logistics park completed in stages.

History
London Gateway is located on the former Shell Haven site in Thurrock in Essex. The 1,800-acre (7.3 km2) site is a former oil refinery, which closed in 1999. However, the site has been used as a port since the 16th Century.

DP World received government approval in May 2007 for the development of London Gateway. The proposals were also identified by Gordon Brown as one of the four economic hubs essential for the regeneration of the Thames Gateway.

In May 2008, the Department for Transport issued a "Harbour Empowerment Order" for London Gateway, which provided official and statutory powers for the new port and established London Gateway as a legally recognised authority.

The future of the project was less certain after Moody's downgraded DP World's financial status to 'junk' in December 2009 in relation to the Financial crisis of 2007–2010 and associated financial problems for DP World's owners Dubai World. In January 2010 DP World announced its intention to seek a share listing on the London Stock Exchange in the second quarter of 2010 and was also given the go-ahead for construction of the port. Work started in February 2010.

Port
London Gateway port will include a 2,700 metre long container quay, with a fully developed capacity of 3.5 million TEU a year [7]. The port will be located on the major shipping lanes serving north west Europe, and will increase national deep-sea port capacity for the UK, as identified as necessary by the government.

At present the ports of Felixstowe and Southampton are the first and second largest ports by container traffic in the UK, with the Port of London third.

DP World has stated that high quality architecture, sustainability, and high levels of security and management will be key features of the park and will create an attractive environment for occupiers.

Distribution Park
The distribution park at London Gateway will cover a development area of 300 hectares (700 acres). It will accommodate buildings in excess of one million sq ft, and offer linkages to local road and rail networks with access across the UK, including London. Outline planning permission has been granted for a total of 9,500,000 sq ft (883,000 m2).

Transport Links
Junction 30 of the M25 motorway and some existing junctions on the A13 roads could be upgraded subject to funding and a rail connection to the port will be made to the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway line via an existing freight line.

Financing
DP World is planning to invest over £1.5bn to develop the project over a 10-15 year development period. It predicts that London Gateway will deliver about 12,000 new direct jobs, benefit the local and regional economy, and assist the government’s Thames Gateway regeneration initiative. In addition, there will be over 30,000 indirect and induced jobs.

Policing
The London Gateway Port Harbour Empowerment Order 2008 permits the harbour authority to apply to a justice of the peace to appoint constables to form a police force for the port (and for justices of the peace to dismiss them). If appointed, they will have all the powers and privileges of a constable within the port area, and if they pursue someone from the port area, then they will retain the same powers of arrest as they would have if they were still in the port area. The majority of the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 were applied by the Order.

Management Company Marine Facade implements the largest in Europe waterfront development project at the west edge of Vasilievsky Island in St. Petersburg. 476,7 hectares of new land reclaimed from the Gulf of Finland in the central part of the city will accommodate new residential and commercial real estate with all the appropriate infrastructure, including utilities, roads and public facilities.

The flagship project of the new territory development is the first and the only in Russia specialized Marine Passenger Port. In 2009, Passenger Port of St. Petersburg won the Seatrade Insider Cruise Award for the Best Transit Port . A river port for small passenger crafts is being constructed next to the cruise berths. River port facilities will be used within the City River Transport Development Program, which aims to mitigate road traffic in St. Petersburg.

Guests of St. Petersburg, coming to the city through the new sea gate will face an impressive skyline of the North Capital with high-rise office buildings, shopping galleries, recreation zones, parks and residential buildings.

WHY DOES ST. PETERSBURG NEED NEW TERRITORY?

Saint-Petersburg currently has no modern business district, which prevents large companies from locating their headquarters, offices and other facilities here.
The new green area located on the new territories of reclaimed land is essentially an alternative to the adverse high-density development encroaching on the historical centre of the city.
The historic centre of St. Petersburg is on UNESCO's World Heritage Monument List. The Marine Facade Project will help to preserve the unique and authentic nature of the city centre. The new business district is reminiscent of La Defense in Paris, and located only six kilometres from the city centre. Being located close to the historical centre, it will sustain the load of the future economic and political development of the city.

Land Reclaimation:

Land Allocations:

General project area - 476.7 ha,

Water - 29.7 ha,

Territory boarding the blocks - 218.3 ha,

Including:

Apartment buildings - 85.4 ha,

Public buildings - 66 ha,

The Marine Passanger Port and ship berths - 35.9 ha,

Green zone and general purpose - 19.5 ha,

Engineering and transportation infrastructure - 11.5 ha.

Roadwork improvements- 228.7 ha,

Including the technical zone of the Western High Speed Diameter (express road) - 65.8 ha.

The following real estate facilities will be located on the new territory:

Residential areas

Retail and service, restaurants and entertainment and leisure centres

Educational institutions

A new business district for St. Petersburg

Hotels

An exhibition hall and congress centre

Museums, theatres and other cultural facilities
