OMG, you kids need to get laid. This is getting seriously ridiculous. There is a "thing in reality" a funny little thing, called perspective and depth of field. Look them up. They're actually quite important. And by the way, also quite important, "Reality" is three dimensional, so when represented by a two dimensional image, it loses depth of filed and perspective.

Translation. You can't possibly determine height from that picture, even if the render of the structure is dimensionaly accurate. You would need to know the "EXACT" point(in space) where that picture was taken, and the lens of the camera, to modify the render before photoshoping it in, for it to be "perspectively accurate".

I never meant to calculate an exact number to determine the height, but just a rough estimate.
If you want, I can include the curvature of the earth, the perspective difference and any other minor thing too, but ain't nobody got time for that This is a skyscraper forum and not a math forum.
The calculation should just emphasize that this render is totally unrealistic.

Whatever the benchmark might be; 1200m or 1 mile...first and foremost, let's hope construction starts soon enough!

with it being worked on in secret for quite a while already and the site being empty and ready for prep works, i think it isn't even unlikely that it could start as soon as they say

I may be alone in this, but I think this thing looks like some hideous rocket prepping to be launched. Looks very impractical as well.
That net structure around the outside of the building looks expensive, and it doesn't look like it would offer much, if any structural support.
If they are going to build something this bizarre, they should build a scaled down version, perhaps 300-400 m.

Steel cables are really not that expensive and commonly used in many structures such as bridges and communication towers. They would also play a crucial role in this design, and without them the tower would totally collapse! Don't underestimate the forces a steel cable can bear.

This tour does not even look like a tower. It looks like a fishing net around ? It's stupid , it will collapse , we can not build a tower as fine , maintained with a fishing net ! lol

Is this going to be an observation tower? It looks very thin, and I doubt offices would fit into it, only apartements could. Is it thinner than 432 Park Avenue?

Without that "fishing net", the entire tower will topple over.

but also build a large fishing net that is impossible! the cranes are not big enough, the cable tension is too high , a helicopter did not have enough strength ...

It could be. For the proportions, it would make sense if it were. I'm even wondering (if it is thinner than 432 park) if it is maybe as thin as Steinway. It would be odd if it were though.
