AMAZING project!

Can't believe such behemoth managed to rise up in such a short time cos when I was in Bkk the last time end of 2003, this whole project had just started or something (I remember it being postponed or something)

Anyway it seems to me that the Bkk authorities love cable-stayed bridges (Rama VIII and Rama IX too!) Or was it a SEA thingy cos in Malaysia also we get a lot of Cable-Stayed ones. There are almost no major suspension bridge in this region

AMAZING!!

Now, is it me or, if you follow the highway northwest it comes to a point where it looks like it does a loop upon itself for no apparent reason other than a very unusual way to turn northeast without demolishing a hole lot of property? What is your opinion?

sorry, I don't really get your question.

Do you mean the loop on the top left of that picture????
If yes, I don't see anything strange with that!!

Looks great! Why does the river have the color like Thai iced tea? Is it seasonal?

there have been a lot of heavy rain in the northern and central parts of thailand in the past month.

he red colour that you see is a seasonal thing... this is when the river carries the highest amount of sediments....

I think it's to merge with another smaller highway

What I find interesting is they could have simply torn a path straight through all the property, instead of doing the loop. Nothing of importance, just curious. :-)

I often dont do as I preach and I have been preaching Google Earth for well over a year now!!! I dont know how I didnt think of this myself lol :P

Kudos to you cHemon, after locating the correct junction, even though only the foundations have been laid, it completely explains the situation.

Thx :-)

On a more lighthearted note, I wish my city had rivers of chocolate milk...
