I know, but it seems that they want to build Târgu Neamț - Iași first, and leave the difficult part for later. If they do that, then the motorway will have to pass through Târgu Neamț. Apparently, these options were considered, and in the end we have this.

Anyway, here's a cool map of the future A1 Sibiu - Pitesti. Click on any of the motorway sections, and then move the mouse cursor left/right over the graph to follow the route of the motorway.

There should be a route selection report explaining clearly why the final route was selected from the various options, if not then complain to Brussels.

Could you help me to choose the optimal roads in Romania for next week?

First is b/n H/RO border and Bucharest (Caro hotel) - is this the best (optimal) road?

Second doubts regarding road b/n Bucharest and Belgrade on romanian side?

Thanks in advance for any help.

In my mind it's optimal roads, now. Most highway, only Selimbar(sibiu) - Bascov (Pitesti) is normal way nad Dumbrava - Soimus at least 90 km.

LOT 1 Sebeș – Alba Iulia, 17 km - opening 2018;

LOT 2 Alba Iulia - Aiud, 24.2 km - opening 2018;

LOT 3 Aiud – Decea, 12.4 km - opening next summer;

A1 Lugoj - Deva Photo Report







We have:

LOT 2
- Traian Vuia - Margina, 15.5 km (min. 1:06, 3rd video) - will open to traffic next month;

- Margina - Holdea, 13.5 km (end of 2nd video, beginning of 3rd video) - part of it is U/C, part of it should be U/C but is still missing environmental/construction permits, part of it was removed from the contract for Lot 2 and will be tendered separately - it's that part where the 2 tunnels (1675m and 290m) had to be added to the project (as requested by the environmental agency); the company building Lot 2 is responsible for producing the Technical Design for this short stretch, and apparently they are almost ready now so the tender for construction should be launched soon.

LOT 3 Holdea - Ilia, 21 km (min. 0:28, 2nd video) - will open next summer.

LOT 4 Ilia - Şoimuş, 22 km - about half of it (min. 3:14 1st video - min 0:28 2nd video) is pretty much ready, while on the other half (min. 0 - min 3:14 1st video) works had to be stopped almost a year ago because of environmental issues (a family of bats was found in the area). Construction permits should be issued any time now so the works will resume early next year. The 11 km stretch that is almost ready can't be used before the other 11 km are ready.

Fresh drone footage of A1 Lugoj - Deva LOT 4. As I said, the first half which is pretty much ready won't open to traffic for at least another year since the other half is way behind schedule.

There's some work going on (you can see this in the video), but only on the section which has a valid construction permit. For the other section the construction permit is expected to be issued ~ 15 Dec. The Romanian company UMB which builds LOT 4 has probably the best reputation among construction companies here (it's known for fast and quality work), so there are hopes that lot 4 will be finished by the end of next year.

A1 Lugoj - Deva LOT 3. Because the plan for Lot 2 has changed (2 tunnels added to the project just before Lot 3) and Lot 2 (except the Traian Vuia - Margina section) won't be completed for another few years, decision was taken to have a temporary exit @ Holdea (right at the beginning of the video). Well, partly temporary - after the completion of the project it could still be used to get out, but not to get in. Construction permit is yet to be issued for this temporary exit.

By the way, it might be a good idea to set the speed @ 2x, since these videos are pretty long.

I don't discover in the first 3 minutes a clear place for a (temporary) exit due to the difference in altitude.

- Gilău - Nădăşelu (8.7 km) is pretty much ready. However, it can't be used before the bridge over the Somesul Mic River + connection btw. this section and Câmpia Turzii - Gilău will be ready. Tender for this short stretch (~800 m) has been launched, so hopefully by the end of next year it will be completed.



- Târgu Mureș – Ogra LOT 2 (10.1 km) is U/C. Completion date: Summer 2017.

You had reported last August that 4 out of 5 LOT are already u/c. What's correct?
