The oficial name is

"Wanda METROPOLITANO"

Metropolitan Stadium was the stadium of the Atleti from 1923 to 1966, before the Vicente Calderón

At least they have put history in the name of the stadium, less is nothing
Allianz Arena, Emirates Stadium, Etihad Stadium, ... has no history in its name.

In a few years ... wanda will no longer be and could be another brand, Sony Metropolitan, for example. The honor to our history "Metropolitano", will always be

This stadium not only is going to be a great football stadium, but also will propably be #1 in Spain for large super-concerts. The location is good (Camp Nou and Bernabeu are too much whithin the inner city limits) and has a broad access tunnels, plus the Calderon has been extensively used for concerts, so I guess this one could inherit the concert tradition. The gap in the "Peineta" stand allows air coming into the stadium, which is also very good for pitch recovery. Personally, I don't like the Wanda thing, but love the Metropolitano "surname".

How much did Wanda pay for the stadium naming?

This is easily the best naming rights deal I can think of (not in a financial sense). Better than just the sponsor's name + "Arena" or "Stadium", better than sponsor's name + the stadium's old name (like "the Abu Dhabi Santiago Bernabeu" or others), and better than new concotions such as "Allianz Riviera" or Matmut Atlantique"...

But AD Santiago Bernebeu would make sense considering it is the same stadium, and not a new build.

Maybe they would have changed it Wanda Metropolitano in Vicente Calderon as well, but seems less likely.

It is way much better to give naming rights to a stadium, than changing the team's name (like in basketball).

What do you prefer? Barcelona Lassa and Panathinaikos Superfoods or Allianz Arena and Emirates Stadium?

Erm, concrete! They are doing on the cheap. Hate those little prison windows as well.

The only pretty bit is the roof.

Never heard of such a thing as an official stadium for concerts??? Usually the artists tour cities and play in whatever venue they can hope to
sell out in that city.

Renting Bernabéu or Camp Nou for a concert is so expensive that it isn't worth it unless you can be sure to sell out, so instead the artists play at smaller venues like Vicente Calderon or the olympic stadium in Barcelona.

nop.

If the exterior is ugly, it will be the Olympic Stadium in London ..

"those little prison windows" Give it a magnificent and orderly interior harmony:

More details of the Club website. The treatment on the concrete is appreciated in more detail:

And the interiors, (personally I love them, give a sense of order and architectural harmony): The architects have tried to leave them diaphanous without being interfered by bars and bathrooms, located in the back of the facade.

The treatment that is receiving the facade is anti-rain
The upper right is the area of the facade that has already been treated

It really is a splendid stadium, but is it all going to be ready in the summer of 2017? Seems like a lot of work still left.
