just some technical comments:

Dug-Outs are actually the player's box/ bench at a baseball stadium. They are called as such because on classic baseball statdiums, such as Fenway and Wrigley, and are adapted on almost all MLB stadiums, they are literally dugged out and are a few feet below the playing ground. the dug outs also extend to their clubhouse, the baseball term for dressing rooms and lockers. The term has found its way on other sports because of baseball's popularity during the golden age of radio and newspaper, back when baseball sportswriters and radio play by play announcers started to cover other sports as well. and the name stuck...until recently.

today, in the US at least, dug outs only pertains to those of the baseball stadiums, i havent heard that term from broadcasters and read about them in the sports columns outside of baseball for the longest times. At halftime or full time during broadcast, the term i always hear is "dressing room" or "locker room"

I just want to inform everyone here that there was some serious security lapse at last sunday's event, we were were able to enter and bring outside foods to the main lobby of the arena tru an open unguarded sidedoor by following other patrons and god forbid anybody could have brought something in there that is not in their right mind unchecked ... The construction workers that were eating near the door didn't bother to stop the people from entering as they continue to eat their lunches but did closed the door after some more patrons were able to enter behind us, this is unacceptable when you have so many lives that can be put in jeopardy by a single or group of people with bad intentions ... Hopefully security would be improve and be more vigilant on the next major event here, by the way CDV was an impressive place and feels like we were outside the Philippines when walking around the facilities last sunday afternoon ...

Regardless of the veracity of the incident, what's a personal lesson from it?

To keep public spaces safe, people are encouraged to "SAY SOMETHING WHEN YOU SEE SOMETHING".
Elementary children at young age were already taught that if they act quickly and in time, even they with their limited strength and resources can avert disasters.

Quote:
Dutch legend has it that there was once a small boy who upon passing a dyke on his way to school noticed a slight leak as the sea trickled in through a small hole. Knowing that he would be in trouble if he were to be late for school, the boy pocked his finger into the hole and so stemmed the flow of water. Some time later a passerby saw him and went to get help. This came in the form of other men who were able to effect repairs on the dyke and seal up the leak. - source

Attention: Security Personnel and Construction Workers......

We should address this concern religiously especially with regards to securing the premises of CDV and the spectator's of the arena....... Anything is possible to happen.., Please do not wait until such thing. MAS MATINDING BATIKOS ang aabutin natin dyan...... MALIGAYA should not allow construction workers to be in the venue during the event...... they shouldn't have to eat near the doors.....,

call the attentions of those concern..... SECURING THE PEOPLE AND THE PROPERTY MUST BE OUR PRIORITY.......

I did reminded them that's why they close the door but not after some more people were able to enter behind us without inspection, bottom line here is there was a breakdown in security procedures that should never happen again and what I forgot to do was informed the PNP desk at the main lobby due to my excitement of going into the main arena already ... Posted this incident to bring attention to the head of CDV facilities security so that proper corrective actions can be made during future events and yes I was a guilty party too for going tru here to avoid the long lines at the main doors but at least I shared it so that security improvements can be made and yes this is one of those so called constructive criticism ...

The lesson out of the boy's story is to emulate what the boy did when he poked his hand to jam the hole to avoid what he sensed to be a cause of harm.

Instead of passing thru that unauthorized entry open unguarded door, the boy would slam it close to avoid a possible disaster.

I do hope anyone would learn the boy's proactive mindset.
