Bloomfield Stadium renovations:
double the number of seats to 29,000
but only 2,500 seats will be covered with option to fully cover in future.

Oh sorry.
I thought they did some kind of sophisticated renovation work that changed it

June 19th:

It's about time...

Funny how you can see the difference, where the fence was until yesterday:

Is there a picture from Dizengoff square?
I don't see it.

EDIT: now I see it, weird.
And yeah, no visible change yet.

Kikar Atarim renovation project :
https://www.tel-aviv.gov.il/Forms/%D...7%99%D7%9D.pdf

And an article against the current project including a video of the presentation to the public.

http://xnet.ynet.co.il/articles/0,73...977870,00.html

Although I cannot wait to see the renovation, I believe that 8 towers there and the transformation into a commercial alley are not the right way to go. I like the commercial side facing the tayelet and the swimming pool, though.

Well, they need money to finance the renovation and issuing permits for towers is the easiest way to get it.
The tower shapes look nice btw, but it is not very likely that they will be built in this form.

I agree its not a good plan, no matter what big name architect is attached.
its a mall with corridors to the beach and 3 towers on top of the mall.

I dont like it. the whole point of demo of atarim is not to build another obstacle
like the old one but with towers. also who will cross 6 lanes of traffic?
I totally agree they missed the point with this plan. scrap it and start again.

Wow, just went through the presentation and I can say I am really, really impressed. I specifically like how the wide pedestrian walkways in the
median of Ben Gurion dip under ground level at HaYarkon to become an entry point to an underground shopping mall before leading to the marina!

Look more carefully. The medium of Ben Gurion transitions into a tunnel under Ha-Yarkon into the mall. No lanes of traffic to cross.

Good plan, considering that there is no other solution but building towers to compensate all the owners.

Actually I was also misled by the drawing but theres no tunnel or safe pedestrian crossing.
pedestrians will have to cross 5 lanes of traffic, here is the street plan:

OK so the last squatters near Arlozorov red line station construction site have been removed.
NTA will take over the site in a few weeks.

its even worse than the negative of the existing atarim problems
just added more of them
since now pedestrians will have to cross the busy traffic and go down stairs into narrow dark corridors.
and instead of open spaces its one giant mall. theres no improvement in anything.
