Just south of the new Pacific Coast bank, Ive notices a larger building getting removed. Anyone know hat that is being done for? And before any genius blurts out " There is a sign right on front of it , ( then huffs with arms across chest)
Its at least 300-400 feet from the Pacific Bank site.

Its not just sky scrapers & high Rises for the city center in the still young year of 2015. A dingy strip mall on King George that looks like it would be more comfortable in Prince George, is getting a FULL rebuild. Before anyone from P.G. blows a fit, grow up. ( Bet you thought I was going to say sorry or I was joking weren't ya ) Yeah, still feeling the grow up still )

Big improvement in my books.

Little India in Newton

New “Little India” Neighbourhood Coming to Metro Vancouver

Little India Plaza, the much awaited commercial development that caters to Surrey's growing South Asian community, is now under construction. This new commercial development, situated in the heart of Surrey's Indo-Canadian community on the corner of 80th Avenue and 128th Street is primed to become Vancouver's new South Asian tourist destination.

Currently the second largest city in British Columbia, Surrey has experienced consistent population growth over the past 10 years. It has become a desirable living location for those seeking opportunity outside of Vancouver With an average of 800-1000 new residents arriving monthly.

Unlike many other neighbourhoods in the area that only allow for industrial development, Little India Plaza is the first of it's kind to be approved for 'Comprehensive Zoning'. This means that a wide variety of commercial businesses are able to move into this new hub.

The Development

Little India Plaza is a five building, two level commercial development designed by DF Architecture Inc. and developed by Wales McLelland Construction in conjunction with Northwest Development Ltd.

In addition to being situated in a high traffic area Little India Plaza, as the name suggests, is also located in the heart of Newton's South Asian community. Primed to become a thriving tourist destination. This new development presents a unique opportunity that can't be missed by any Indo-Canadian entrepreneurs who are looking to develop a successful business.

The building will be constructed to the highest level of commercial standards with included features such as:
• Double glazed windows
• Two commercial elevators
• Ducted air conditioning
• Large lobby
• Extra wide walk ways on both levels
• Garden Benches
• Landscaping
• Bicycle stands
• Designer lighting

I could use some help from someone identifying this sign on 140th next to the Vedic Hindu temple. I know the middle portion talks about the parade & temple. The tower picture, Im hoping is going to be a " coming soon " project as Ive been wondering if we will ever see High-rises built in the Newton area in the next 10 years. This does resemble Wave & Wynd ( under construction)located in the City Center too.

So, I watched the news this evening & saw a plan put out for the Newton city center project. A very nice image, but perhaps if someone pays a little bit of attention they will see that's its an imagine of Surrey City Center, with the sky train line and a few photo shopped buildings into it.

In fact here you go to have a look for your self:

It looks nice, but... you may notice something a little off about the image.

Would have liked it if Delta has its own thread, but even when adding on the area's in Delta's further flung regions of Ladner & Tsawwassen, the amount of notable projects & of committed members willing to put forth time & dedication to these area's is also lacking.

AT 37 FLOORS, ITS SAFE TO SAY THAT EVEN IN THE SEMI BUILT UP AREA SURROUNDING THE TOWER,
IT WILL STILL STAND OUT AND RISE ABOVE ITS NEIGHBOURS FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.

Out in South Surrey or White Rock ( same thing ) & couldn't help but notice that Palm tree's are beginning to be planted here, in a fashion the Delta had been doing.

North bound King George

The three new towers u/c will sure fill the right side, while the stand out style of the Coast Capital HQ will be an artistic piece set out before them. Wonder if the " HUB " tower south side of Coast Capital will take away from the unique design of the HQ.

Do you remember these little dreams - or - should I say huge dreams?

Surrey CITY Center
another mega proposal for City center area that included a 70 floor tower

Im sure, that this height will be passed in the next 10 years if not less. Hell, Civic Tower is only dozen or so off already.
