Metro Vancouver's Eastern Cities

Good afternoon everyone
We seem to have a bit of an issue keeping B.C. & western Canadian threads off life support it appears. Watching threads go slowly extinct is almost a daily event now, so the idea of creating a new one seems almost stupid.

Threads belonging to the Metro Vancouver area are still fully alive with no small effort from Yellow Fever. I can imagine him in a chair with an IV hooked into his arm pumping photo's & comments into a sub form laying on a hospital bed.

So I figured perhaps with others help, a new Eastern Metro Vancouver thread may work. It will consist of Eastern Cities & communities starting in Clover-dale & ambitiously enough ending in Hope B.C.

( which is not part of the Vancouver metro but will be in the next 25 years I believe, but this is not the thread to discuss that ).

So I hope to see everyone contribute & stem the death of this region, & to give Y.F. a much needed breather.

Thanks for doing this rhino, although I live in Surrey, I never thought of reporting any development in Langley.

Mind if I post some of my photos?

Abbotsford, BC (Clearbrook area)

I feel like this building is empty.

You can see that this major mixed development district is mainly decaying urban sprawl. Actually, most of the city is like that.

These are brand-new tenements, though.

Strip mall off South Fraser Way.

The easternmost part of Abbotsford, looking westwards.

No problem I hope my sometimes shaky photos aren't too much trouble.

Mission, BC, from Westminster Abbey.

Not a city photo, but provided for context if you're never been up there. It's on the peak of a mountain and the grounds are an extensive park.

I like the modernist style. Wikipedia calls it brutalist, but I don't know about that... In any case, despite the Fraser Valley's countless Christian churches, all of them look like rubbish besides this one.

Mission from the Abbotsford side of the bridge. If you have never been to Mission: you are not missing much, trust me.

I been to mission a few times to watch my nephew's hockey team played the mission team during his kids/teens league seasons. It isn't big but its a nice little town nonetheless.

They are not called Vancouver's Eastern Cities. OMG. They are called suburbs and they are east and south and southwest and north and northwest. Jeez!

whatever the title called, we all understand what it means. He is not wrong either, because Surrey, White Rock, Burnaby, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, New Westminster, City of Langley, Delta, Richmond and abbotsford are all cities of their own.
