Still here. Just not much going on. The Summit has been the biggest thing recently though most on here will see it as a suburban mess which it is but it could have been much worse. Downtown the parking garage for Centerpoint is coming along nicely. Still not holding my breathe for much more. They are trying to put together all the financing and parts for the new expansion and renovation of the convention center while also doing some work to Rupp arena. Mostly opening it up to let some light in and putting in proper seats with backs in the upper deck. Also the big park they are putting in downtown has started the private financing/fundraising phase and already has a big donation from someone but can't remember who. The renderings for it actually look really nice. The Thistle station mid rise out by the new BCTC campus fell through and the land is now up for sale. Can't think of much else but probably missed some stuff. I can find out more info or elaborate if you have questions.

Quite a bit of news lately...

1. Oliver Lewis Way (KY 922) will open between Versailles/High/Maxwell and South Broadway on Sept. 22, 2017. Yes, KY 922 opening on 9/22.

2. The Centerpointe parking garage is nearing completion, and the Webb Companies have released a new fly-by rendering of the block. The entrance to the parking garage will be off of Vine St.

3. There is a proposal to build two 6-story apartment buildings (read "dorms") in downtown Lexington. One will be at the corner of Virginia and South Limestone, and the other is on the old Good Sam parking lot located between Jersey and Upper at Pine. In both cases, the first floor is going to be retail, and Target is rumored to be interested. These parcels are being swapped with the land currently occupied by Kennedy's Bookstore and an ex-Fazolis.

4. The mid-century modern Peoples Bank building (on South Boradway) has been demolished. Supposedly, this will allow the Krikorian theater project to start in earnest.

5. The city has made it known that they really do want to demolish the Jefferson St. viaduct. In order to do this, a street swap with the state is proposed.
