Went to the drome again today and more pics on my flickr page.

Noticed that all the trees and vegetation have been no
w demolished for the new Auto Mall.

I am reading the MEL thread with interest lucky our investment companies and banks on the BACL board are not following the same path like the ones on the MEL airport in regards to terminal expansion and parking aprons.

Of the 2,700 hectares at BNE and nearby outside areas at least 30% is a work zone at the moment with industrial parks,Apron works,Terminal expansion,Taxiway strengthening and the new runway and new road network under the new taxiway as well as the Auto Mall.

How much of that 2,700 hectares is swamp land ? which requires big dollars to make it usable.

BAC have done a good job to destroy most of the biodiversity that existed around BNE, the new runway destroyed the most of the last remnants of swampland and mangroves.

The only areas designated ‘biodiversity’ left In the master plan and not open to development are the mangroves to the northwest of the new runway and the headland to the north east of the current runway around luggage point. More or less everything else is open to development.

Sad reality is, that biodiversity and airports don’t mix well.

Quick schedule update with China Airlines.

Between 1 March 2018 - 24 March 2018, it will be back to the old schedule of 4 flights a week. This means that WED, THUR and SAT will be dropped during this time period. Before and after this period remains unchanged at daily. Hopefully A350 announcement is soon.

*********************************************************************************************************************************

Regarding their rival EVA Air, this still has been no announcement regarding their departure changed to around 2235 however it is definitely going ahead as per EVA Air scheds, BNE scheds and FR24. As well as this hopefully we get the 77W soon or the 787-10 next year and a daily schedule is moved to from EVA.

China Airlines would boost its Taipei-Brisbane-Auckland service from five times a week currently to daily by the start of December with the A350-900, replacing A330-300 equipment on the route.

From Australian Aviation

Word on the street is Eva Air are planning to launch 777 from BNE ‘sometime’ in 2018. They would also like to announce a daily schedule at the same time, but this is still being evaluated.

Fingers crossed

According to flight radar the new CX155/150 will be operated by A350-900 and except 31/10. The rest of the flights that can seen are also operated by A350. Will be interesting to see what happens
