I wish they could visit Sao Paulo and Rio to see what happens when a city develops without adequate transport infrastructure. Thats an american mentality. More cars, more car parks..rather than more cars, invest in public transport so less cars are needed. In any case, in cities with high densities it makes more sense to invest in multi storey car parks. The good thing about a car park is that its not a permanent structure. My guess is that it will turn into a brt lane in future. |

Moreover, if Angola had an adequate public transport system, I am dead sure than he would find another aspect to rant about in his unmistakable fashion. In all the years I have never seen him contribute constructively or meaningfully to this sub-forum. Scanning the Angolan threads (and others) - which ardently devoted forumers have meticulously fed with information (visual, written, audio) in the course of time - by just stoically looking for loopholes to take advantage of, is truly nothing to be proud of, in my humble opinion. A display of attitude that often boils down to nerve-wraking nagging and his almost constant voicing of criticism in a manner that reflects the typical code of decorum of a precocious child rather than that of an academic points to a deep-seated lack of insecurity and mirrors traces of fickleness; something which is - at best - annoyingly amusing. To put it all in a nutshell, haters gonna hate. It is as simple as that; no matter in what "disguises they (re-)appear" and no matter how "sweet the melody of their words" sounds. |

Thread derailed.
popa1980, it would be better to start a thread about this, rather than to have the debate scattered in different unrelated threads.

Trabalho Primoroso

http://classicosnapista.forumvalue.c...romo-de-luanda The world´s most critically renowned motorracing specialists and journalists came to Angola when the autodrome opened in 1972 and described it at one of the most modern and technically advanced IN THE WORLD....I found this interesting article. It belongs to this section here....Bear in mind that in 1972, there were no Dubais, Shanghais, Singapores etc. boasting the best autodromes...no, it was in Angola |

It's simple, the same reason why many left after Apartheid ended, they were scared of revenge, that's it.

Another area with large patches of white settlement was Huambo and the cities of Lobito and Benguela...but what struck me most is that you found white settlers even in the deepest corners of the country, in "inhospitable" cimate zones that one wouldn´t expect to find white people. This must also be to the fact that Portuguese people are more robust, physically less frail, more pioneering, mentally stronger and kind of more adaptable as compared to the British, Germans or most of the other Europeans who would have never settled in such great numbers in a tropical country during a time in which surroundings were "less friendly" and harsher at that time. For example, let´s go back in hsitory a bit: although the German government tried to seduce the population to settle in countries like Cameroon, Namibia, Togo or Tanzania, very few people flocked to those places with the sole exception of Namibia. Prime reason was the "inhospitable" climate for Central/Northern Europeans. For example, West Africa was once considered to be "the graveyard" for Whitemen. Descolonização
mbanzacongo
