That's an impressively long list. A few more

~ Infrastructure ~

Second Avenue Sagas:
http://secondavenuesagas.com

~ Local Blogs ~

The ratio of development news is usually quite low, as it isn't their main focus. But they occasionally have items that the others miss (like when yet another 7-11 opens in the EV

EVGrieve:

Bowery Boogie:
http://www.boweryboogie.com/real-estate/

City Room:
http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/

You already mentioned the gray lady in general, of course.

~ Destruction ~

These don't belong in a list on development, but they are related and might interest some.

Jeremiah's Vanishing New York
http://vanishingnewyork.blogspot.com/

Almost the inverse of SSC, remembering the city's icons that have passed

The Bowery Boys
http://theboweryboys.blogspot.com/

These look quite a bit further back

~ SSC ~

SSC has a couple of NYC related threads that overlap. I don't know if the vBulletin software that SSC runs on supports having multiple paths point to the same discussion thread, but that would be useful.

Most obvious example is the World Development News Forums > City/Metro Compilations / New York thread, which has the same intent as our New York City Development News thread and seems to be updated about as frequently. But the same goes for project specific threads, like the 1WTC thread in World / Supertalls and the one here. Ideally, all examples would eventually be deduplicated, unless I'm missing something.

L train shutdown could turn Grand Street into a car-free zone
http://ny.curbed.com/2016/11/2/13497...rg-no-car-zone

Quote:
BY RACHEL SUGAR NOV 2, 2016

The impending L train shutdown looms ever closer, and the city has been scrambling to come up with ways to keep hundreds of thousands of would-be straphangers moving for the 18 months the line will be closed for repairs. Last month, transit activists proposed one potential solution: turn 14th Street in Manhattan into a no-car zone, a proposal the MTA has agreed to consider. And now, they’re hoping to enact a similar plan on Grand Street in Williamsburg, reports the New York Post.

After all, the two thoroughfares have quite a bit in common “Grand Street is a major backbone along the L train route just like 14th Street,” Caroline Samponaro, Transportation Alternatives’ senior director of campaigns and organizing, told the paper. “We are hoping to do a complete street redesign.”

While the group is currently “brainstorming many ideas,” the latest plan would ban cars from the Williamsburg Bridge to the intersection of Grand and Metropolitan Avenue, turning the stretch into a haven for buses, bikes, and pedestrians. The Post says city officials will consider the final proposal.

The shutdown is slated to start in January 2019, and—if all goes according to plan—would be expected to wrap in the summer of 2020. “We are working closely with the MTA to look at all ways to mitigate the impacts of the L train’s shutdown, with a focus on mass transit, bikes and ferries,” said a Department of Transportation spokesperson. Good luck to us all.
